I got a letter from my daughter who said family day is the day before graduation. My question is what time can she leave on family day and if so should I come a day early? Was flying on the 23rd of Jan but she said that is family day? Any advice or suggestions
What is family day? I didn't know about it?
Navymom98 - the Navy doesn't do any "official" Navy Family Day (I know the Air Force does, but not the Navy). There is a Meet N Greet put on by a member on here - Sarge that is on the Thursday before PIR. It is totally something that he does - completely out of his own pocket (he accepts donations) and it is a wonderful get together (we attended back in 2012). The link is usually posted in the boot camp group and you MUST RSVP for it.
SARGE'S MEET & GREET
Plan to arrive the day before PIR so you won't risk missing PIR and go to Sarge's Meet and Greet from 5 pm to 10 pm the evening before PIR at the Lakehurst Event Center (go to http://www.mynavytaxi.com/events.html to RSVP). Sarge has a taxi service and he is a wealth of information. His cell number is 847-212-0246. His Meet and Greet and services have been getting great reviews. Find Sarge on N4M as OldSarge.
Please be sure to join the boot camp group - I left the link in the Welcome message on your page. You'll find lots of helpful info there.
There are no Sailors at any of the Meet and Greets the night before graduation. If you are able to come early on the 23rd do so. You can pick up your tickets for PIR on that Thursday.
