OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

Rickie left for RTC on 7/17.  We got the letter today with her address.  I feel so much more connected now.  Our first letter to her will be in the mail 1st thing Monday morning.  I'm so proud of her!

Since you have received the form letter, join PIR 09/13/2013 TG 44 (clickable link) to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. If her PIR date is a different date, let us know so we can direct you to the correct group.

At least you will be able to watch the Live Stream at Since you have sent a letter, you know his PIR date, so go to and join the group for that

You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups as well as in the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

(Group names within this reply are clickable links.  To join a group, click on the group name and after the group page opens, click on “+ Join...” in the upper right.)

Wefixit... That is great!!!! I cant wait to receive that letter from my son he left for BC on 7/18. I hope it will be here tomorrow. do you know what we are allowed to send in the envelope besides the letter (pictures)?

Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will help you. I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) while you are there and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well.

Thank you do much

You are very welcome.

lemonelephant I went to the recruiter's office today and they gave me the ship #03 and Div 354. gonna send him the first letter.

It is best to wait on the form letter before sending letters or to wait until 2 full weeks have passed, which will be Thursday, if you get the address from the recruiter without having a form letter. See the info on the main page of Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and within Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit and be sure to double check the address you have against those against those at or Ship/Division--How it Works. (I invite you again to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).) You can join PIR 09/20/2013 TG 45 since that is when he will have PIR.
