Thank u so much for this very useful information I don't know what I would do without this. So now I got to work on getting the whole of thanksgiving off so I can spend sme time with him, it's probably going to be so hard making travel arrangements at this time and so expensive too since there are four of us but we will be ok with Gods help

My grandson is also on Ship 12 Div 009. He is an E2 SR (S-PACT). We will be driving from north of Nashille and it will take at least 8 hr., unless of course we hit traffic in Chicago or the usual road construction - so you would probably have at least a 12 hr. drive from Atlanta. As of now my SR will be staying in GL after PIR (Nov. 21st) so hopefully we will get to spend Thanksgiving and a few days of liberty there with him. My SR's name is Matt. Maybe they know each other. Know that Divisions 009 and 010 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. There will be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

Since he is staying in GL, he will have Liberty on Wednesday after he checks in at the TSC, which takes about 3-5 hours until Liberty expires that night at 10, but you must drop him off about 30 minutes before to give him time to get to his barracks. Then he will have daytime Liberty (pick up 6:30 or 7 am and drop off 9:30 pm or so) each day of the 4 day weekend, or at least they have in the past. You can check on the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page (clickable link) to see if anything has been posted about it yet.

Here are 2 other groups you will want to check out: Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. What will his rating (job) be? There are also groups for many of the ratings.
