Double-check the address the recruiter gave you against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp. Recruiters sometimes give a generic address for the RTC and if the street address is not correct, then mail can be delayed for up to 3 weeks.  Know that letters mailed before you get the form letter do not get to your recruit much quicker, if at all, than letters mailed after receiving the form letter because the recruits cannot receive mail until they are in their ship and a Recruit Mail Petty Officer has been trained in how to handle mail, which means it is usually sometime in the third week or later when they start receiving mail depending on when P-days ended and the division formed.

We know that division 048 will have PIR on 01/04/2013, and I see you have joined the group, PIR 01/04/2013.  Know that Divisions 047 and 048 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.

I got the form letter today and the address was correct. Thank goodness! His date is 01/04/12. I'm happy for him that it will be a week earlier! I'm sure he didn't want it extended. I have a question about the guest list, he mispelled the names of our friends who will flying out for graduation. Does his need to correct the spelling or will it be ok? Also are they not allowing military to be an exception to the guest list? It was blacked out on our form where it listed that will not be included. (the not was blacked out). His girlfriend just graduated today and will be at A school there and wanted to go to graduation. I know from reading on here there has been alot of changes. Hoping you can help so I can let her know. So proud of her as well!!!

Since the RTC does not have a time machine and neither do you, PIR will be in 2013, not 2012.  The list in the form letter is for you.  He will submit the names for the Access List about a week or so before PIR, so be sure to write him with the corect spelling of everyone's names.  As long as someone would be able to determine from the person's ID that the name is similar, there would not be a problem, but it's best to have the correct spellings.  No, the only people who do not have to be on the list beginning in January are those who are aged 2 years old and under.  Everyone else, even active duty and retired military personnel, must be on the Access List to attend.  His girlfriend must be listed to attend. (See http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp.)
