My daughter has been in DEP for 6 weeks now. She was told she needed to loss 10 lbs and 3 inches off her waist before boot camp. At first she was doing great, eating right and going to a personal trainer. She went to recruiter 2 weeks ago and lost the weight and passed the weight measurement by the skin of her teeth ( I mean waist)...I need the humor right now. Anyway, just after that she got sick and laid in bed for a week. Then last week was filled with going away parties & big dinners (including thanksgiving). We are driving her to the recruiter on Tuesday & then had plans to follow her to the hotel to stay the night and see her off in the morning when the bus picks her up to leave for boot camp November 28th. Well she comes to me this morning and says she has gained all the weight back. She said the recruiter said if she gains any weight back he will not send her to boot camp. She is planning on doing the military diet for next 2 days to see if that helps. Of course now she is freaking out and so am I. She quit her job, I took time off work to go with her Tuesday & Wednesday, payed for a hotel, spent huge amounts of money on going away parties. I know that kind of stuff isn’t what’s important, but it’s reality. So, my question to you fine ladies...what happens if the recruiter doesn’t send her? Will they give her another couple weeks to loss the weight. Will she have to wait 6 months and redo MEPS? Thanks for reading.
((((Hugs)))) and prayers. Mine lost over 100lbs before boot camp (most of it but not all before DEP) and he was stressed about making weight at the end as well. His recruiter weighed and taped him a day or two before leaving and then they did the same at MEPS before they left. He made it by the skin of his teeth.
I hope your daughter manages to make weight.
