how to find out the date a sub returns to home port

My son who is on a sub has been out to sea for the last five months and due to return in about a month. We are from calif and he is stationed in hawaii, we have not seen each other in 13 months now and i was hoping there was a way to find out the date that they should port back at home base so that our family could surprise him upon his return.  If anyone knows of any way to get that information I would really appreciate it, thank you, Dawn

Only way is for the ombudsman to let you know or your son and if you find out the info DO NOT POST IT ANYWHERE, DO NOT TELL ANYONE!  It goes againts OPSEC to post that info.

They won't know or tell the date until maybe a week before theypull into port and it can change at anytime.  I have seen ships stay out to sea longer due to the info being posted on public sites.

My future brother in law can never out right tell us when he's coming in to port. But he normally hints to how close or how far away it is to another big date we would now about. Or like I'll be home to watch "army wives" oh he'll be home near a weekend or "I can't make so and so Birthday" so then well we know he won't be home this date. His sub date has changed because wives and mother posted on fb about it.
My son is on a sub and based in HI. There is a closed Family Readiness Group on Facebook. Membership has to be approved. Your son's sub may have a similar group. If you are on Facebook, try the following key word: your son's sub and the words "Family Readiness Group" - even within a closed group, words are carefully chosen when posting.
