He has taken and done well on the ASVAB, he also wants to take the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) as that is the only way to qualify for the rating he wants. The first recruiter wanted him to sign a contract for a rating he doesn't want and THEN take the DLAB and have the first contract "torn up." I did not think this was a great idea. I have heard some horror stories here.<br />

Yes they do lie and I would press for what he wants. My son had a different focus and it changed when push came to shove. The have a quota to meet as well. I would of my son getting a college degree first before having to start at the lowest level. But he was getting restless and the friends were partying. It was time for him to go. He joined at 19.
