Im going to be living with my husband during A school. Hes going to pensacola and graduates 3/11. Where is your husband going?
Great lakes hospital corspman how did your husband get approved to live off the barracks? And are you going to receive housing allowance?
We starting getting his housing allowance when he started boot camp. From what Ive been told once we get to pensacola he has to wait till hes phase II which takes about 2 weeks, then he can apply for what they call brown bagger (to live off base with me) Then it has to be approved and wait till hes in phase III to live with me.  Phase III is about 3 weeks long. Is your husband in bootcamp?
Yes, and Im not sure if I should go to his bootcamp in Great Lakes if I have to move to Texas where his A school might be transfer to because the A school in Great Lakes might be closing in Great Lakes. How long is your husband A school?
My husbands A school is 49 weeks so he's gonna be in Pensacola for a year. When is his PIR? They get orders before they graduate so you should know before then I would hope.

I havent received any information from the Navy in regards to his PIR date. But my husband said in his letter that his PIR date is 3/25/11. My husband might start A school the week after and his A school is about 4-6 months where ever that might be. But thats good to know where they will be ordered before they graduate so I know where to move.

My husband is due to head for Pensacola for A School in 1.5 weeks. We have the same issue. Were you already living in Pensacola prior to him going to A School there? I'm also experiencing some trouble finding an apartment close by because we have a Siberian Husky and she's on most of the pet restricted lists. Any suggestions???

When did he start Boot Camp?  A letter should have been sent to you indicating when his PIR (Pass In Review - gradutation from Boot Camp). Find that letter and join the PIR group for that date. Don't bother moving to GL until he is finished with Boot Camp and you know for sure where you are going to be (I don't believe the Navy would pay for move for BC it anyway). We can't help you w/o more information.

My husband graduates boot camp May 26th & is going down to Pensacola the next morning at 2 am for IT A-School. He wants me to fly down to Pensacola the same day, he said something about how he will be able to hang out for the rest of the weekend down there, but I can't find any information about the school & where I should go to stay. I don't even know for sure if we will be able to see each other. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and right now hes supposed to be down in Pensacola for 22 weeks once he graduates, so we were planning on moving me down there also to be closer. Any suggestions or information about where to stay and when/how we will be able to see/live with each other? Any info will be appreciated, thank you! :)
I but moved to pcola last week and it was fairly simple. I drove down first to find an apartment then moved down the following weekend. I stayed on base at the navy gateway inn, it was really nice. If u come down u should def stay there, but he has to get a chit for u to stay there. My husband doesn't live with me yet becuz he is trying to get his brown bagger...but I see him everyday. it was def worth it!
thank you so much Valarie! what is a chit? And how would he do that for me to stay there? Do you know how long is takes?
