oops that should of been dreading. Should probably get back working and not playing on Navy for moms!!
Hi Proudmom, my son is in div 823. Thanks for starting this group! My son said that there are about 100 recruits in div 823 and all are SEAL candidates--so cool!. Did your son know anyone going at the same time? My son had two guys he was training with who left the same date, but I don't know if they are all in the same division. How old is your son? Mine is turning 21 in October.
He is 19 and yes he had one guy he meet and trained together they left together on Sept 6. I think all seals are in the same division. The will train all together at pre buds and then they will get sent out to Californina when they are ready for buds. Some will sooner then others. What state are you from? Me Michigan. Is your son graduating on Oct 29?
That's great that they will all stay together throughout basic and pre-bud/s. I'm not sure how it works when they go to bud/s--why they go at different times. Do you know? I have heard that pre-bud/s can be 5 weeks to 5 months or more. I'm sure injury and illness must be a partial factor. We live in Ohio--we're not that far away from each other! We are planning to go to graduation and I can't wait to go! I hope that they have liberty to spend with their families after graduation.
I hope we have time to spend with them after graduation too! Hopefully, my daughter will be coming from Ohio State University for the weekend activities. (Go Navy! Go Buckeyes!)
Hi WTCmom, we are going to drive up to Great Lakes for grad--not sure of the timing yet, but if your daughter at OSU needs a way to get there, just let me know. We have plenty of room in our SUV. Happy to help if you need it! :)
Hi everyone--my son is 19 and is a SEAL trainee too. PIR is 10/29. We are from Florida. Leaving in the morning to head to Chicago for graduation--I am so excited!! Not too sure how I will feel when he leaves for California after Pre BUDS, though. I agree with you, Proud Mom--I am dreading it....I just hope my son will get into whatever will be a good fit for him! We didn't know anyone in the division prior to going, though.
Carol inbox me your phone number and also let me know where you are staying. I will contact you when we arrive and we have a group of mom's and dad's (if they are good) and meeting separte from the rest of the navy people. make sure you inbox it so no one else can get a hold of your number. I have about 6 or 7 of us.
How do I inbox??? I read about the Ramada meet and greet and was planning on going to that--do you know what time? I would love to send you my number-let me know how....
Brie! My son is in Div 823 too! He didn't know anyone going in. He is 20 years old.
Hi Brie--My son is also in Div 823. He is a SEAL candidate, too--he just turned 19. Will you at the RTC this weekend?
Hi Carol,
I will be at PIR and am hoping to make it to Meet & Greet, but don't know yet for sure. I hope we can all meet up! Glad you found us all!
