My son is in the above SHP and DIV. Got a letter on 1/7...friends and family got letters last thursday or Friday...was hoping to get a call over weekend...but nothing. Before my son left he told me that his A school would be in Pensacola. PIR is 2/18. Has anyone in this Div heard from their love one this week? In his letter he said that he was doing okay, eating a lot since he only gets to eat 3 times a day had actually gained a few pounds. I have sent quite a few letters and cards, but not certain if he has received all of them, since he was asking for pictures...and one letter had them enclosed. Does anyone have any recent information for this div and shp? How do I find out if he is grad and go or if he will at least have the weekend? I know that no news is supposedly good news but HELP!!!

Sounds good--where can we find these questionnaries?
We got a call yesterday afternoon!!!!  He said this call was suppose to happen days ago but the weather had been too bad and was delaying everything.  He sounded great (although still a bit sick).  Confirmed Battlestations for their division Feb. 13-14.  Said their division is doing great, 7 flags so far!!!  Said the weather is awful, worse than any hurricane we have ever experienced here in Florida.  He is excited for graduation and moving on to A school in Conn.  Stated a lot of his division got strep and almost everyone got pinkeye (included him - he does their laundry after all).  It was wonderful to get to talk to him, he sounds so excited.

Oh no Trish, sorry to hear that everyone is getting sick.  I didn't get a call unfortunately, I waited around for it though. :)

My son has laundry too!  I am thinking that he must be in the same boat... no pun intended. :)

StacieJF... I'm so sorry you didn't get a call.  Ours came around 2:30pm yesterday.  We were at Dillards shopping for warm clothes.  I had to make a bee line for my car where I had a list of questions and to get some quiet space!  Maybe you will get a call today (I'll say a prayer).  He really praised their division and how well they are doing.  Said they have really banded together..  He has really been sick since day 3 of arrival.  Seems to not be able to shake it.  But, he sure sounded a lot better.

Hubs has a pretty sore throat from all the yelling he says they have to do. During Marches they have to sing, according to one of the RTCs. Sooo he was pretty sore. And he said he's been pretty since as well since day 3.

But lucky for my mother in law, I was at her house when he called. So after twenty minutes of talking to me, I gave the phone to her. Too bad it was only about a five minute conversation for her :S. At least I tried. :)

He did say that one of the msot recent inspections, his DIV (83) got a lower score than their brother div (84) because 83's inspector marked them for ridiculous things. He said that the inspector was much harder on them than 84s was on them :S

Also, everyone has passed every single test. They're doing great as a group :)

I got a call yesterday at 2:30 PM also!! It's been so long since I've heard his voice! I couldn't really hear him--he said the blizzard blew out the phone lines....their BST should be 8pm Sunday-8am Monday...wish I could spend Valentine's Day with him!

Oh good! I was looking for a time that BS21 would start and end... that means that they would be calling home around 6am our time here in California!  I hope that I am still home when he calls!

I leave the house at 0645, so fingers crossed that he calls the house first, then my cell if I am not there!

Ok, great to know. Thank you for that bit of info!  So that should be around noon time here in Cali... right when my husband puts our younger kids down for a nap... so he will be home.

Thanks again!

We got a short letter from our son yesterday.  He was going on and on about the bad weather.  My Florida boy has experienced some first - snow & blizzard.  Hope the weather clears for PIR!!!
Yes, Kathy. Mine too, and we will all be praying and wishing for their success and waiting for the phone calls. It's been a long weekend! My best to you and the others with loved ones out there.
Getting to talk to my "Sailor" for an hour yesterday was "HEAVEN".  Can't wait until Friday!!!!!
Yes, hearing his voice and listening to him talk about his training and "classes" was so wonderful. It will only be a few short days and we will be with them. He said that the might get a pizza day today!
