OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Welcome, this site will give more insight as to when the form letter will be sent. See Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training (FIT).   The form letter includes your recruit's address, so now you can mail out all the letters you have been writing. There is more on this in Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.

Does the form letter come regular mail

It does come regular mail.

Hi Navymom98 - it normally takes 9-14 business days before you receive the official letter so you are almost there.  Hopefully it will be arriving any day now!

I left the link the the boot camp group in the Welcome message on your page.  Be sure to join that group as you will find answers to most of your questions there!

Hang in there - and remember, no news is good news!

Have you signed up for USPS Informed Delivery?  Here's the link:

USPS Informed Delivery

You can see what mail you have coming each day (if it's available in your area).  They take a picture of the mail and email it to you.

It's not offered in my area

My son left November 19 also and we received his letter yesteday

Thank you. Keeping my fingers crossed

No letter

Finally got a letter it was heartbreaking. I don't understand what is firing everybody is.she is so stressed out

Oh no,  I am not sure what that means.  Did you get the form letter or a letter from you daughter or both?

My heart goes out to her and you.  With us being new to this hopefully someone can answer this for you. So you don't know what Ship or division she is in yet?
