OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Events

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

When my husband ordered a wheel chair on eBay, it was wrapped in moving roll of cellaphane(sp?) and it can from a different state in U.S., but it shipped just great with no damage at all.
Someone would have to go to a moving company to get those rolls, I think.

Well there are 2 more cents of mine........
Sorry to be late in answering but spent the day in bed with migraine. I had planned to do some investigating tomorrow with post office, bike weights, etc. And I know I remember reading someone on N4M talking about packing bikes...anyone else remember who it was??
I think it was Steve's Mom
Chris I like the way you ponder, this is a good ideas, Maybe there is a way we could send money to pay pal. What ever ya'll decide I am in
got to go I still have a couple of boxes to get off today and a letter to my son.

Keep me posted HUGS
Looks like a lot of us are on the same page here with the bikes! What a smart bunch we are! lol
great minds think alike! :-) But let's remember they really want mountain trail bikes...different from regular bikes.
shipping bikes can be a problem due to their size and weight... I think we may need assistance from the military or postal service... my son had a bike shipped to our house and the frame was totally bent beyound use! Maybe sending a bike not fully assembled is the way to go. My town calls itself a biking capital of the world... not sure if we really deserve the designation but there are three local bike shops... I will ask their thoughts and cost about shipping bikes.
Susan, that would be awesome. At least would give us an idea of how to go about this. I know a little faith goes a long ways, so if alot of faith....!! Can just see the Xray machines now in the mail rooms, all the metal pieces parts of numerous bikes....wonder how many bells and whistles will go off?!! What about all those lonely sailors when they get them...I bet they'd crowd around, each putting in their 2 cents worth on how to put them back together, just like a family gathering around the dining room table putting jigsaw puzzles together! Ha!
Great idea Susan !!
Congrats Pat! What a wonderful choice! Send them some healthy St. Patty's Day stuff!!! lol No green Beer!!!! I have a box ready --- will get a cute card.
Have a great week all!!! I'm going to see my Sailor on Friday ---- Flying to VA
Barbara, Have a great visit! Wishing you safe travel and a sweet reunion. (SOOOOO jealous! heehee)
Barb, I live in VA, so if ever there is something yor Sailor needs that I can do, I will be happy to do it!
