Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm a Mom with a wonderful son in DIV 034 -- looking forward to meeting some of you at graduation in January!
I've received just the one note with all the info on PIR and looking forward to more. Of course, I have this feeling he might spend his limited time and energies writing his sweet girlfriend instead of Mom and Dad. I may just have to trust her to keep me posted. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for a few letters. My next letter will be a questionnaire, as suggested by one thoughtful Mom on the forum for PIR-01072011. Thanks for the tips and support! -

How exciting another DIV 034!
How old is your son? How long have him and the gf been together? Are you guys close?
I so hope she keeps you posted! I have really made an effort to keep my mans mom up to date. I dont if shes doing the same but I will most likely be driving from Peoria, IL up to GL with them. I live in phoenix and dont want to have to rent a car and all that.
I hope we get our first real letters soon!

Central Coast mom - please put your ship div up by your name and please do join us also on the regular site. Those who only post in the forums miss a LOT of information!!! Beside you have great questions to share that can help others who might have the same questions.... see yall there!! Letter in about 2.5 or 3 more weeks at the earlies!!!

Greetings all,
My son is in DIV 034. We received the form letter with the note from him saying "I'm doing great and enjoying it" How encouraging to me! We got a second call from him 3 days after the first - It was great to hear his voice even for a minute. Now that we are connected on this site we'll be praying for all these recruits that God would give them the strength and grace to endure and work to his glory. I like the questionaire idea! We have started the letter writing from parents and siblings.
Missing him terribly and not sure what we will do at Thanksgiving with one gone for the first time.... -

Hi Lydia,
Which regular site are you referring to? I have posted a couple comments on 2 different sites but if there is one to connect better with people especially of Ship 12 DIV 034 I would be glad to use it. I am praying for all of you and appreciate reading all the wonderful, encouraging ideas.

The PIR 1-7-11 Group, the group that these division discussion groups are attached to. You will be able to connect with Moms/Wives/Girlfriends of all Divisions that make up our PIR (graduation) date. All of our sons/daughters are going through the same things at the same time just in different divisions. Welcome and you will LOVE this site and the people on it.

Val- I know Thanksgiving is going to be hard, first holiday without our son. We did celebrate a thanksgiving dinner before he left. Have you gotten any letter yet? I haven't and I am rushing to mail box now hoping!!

I wish I thought of celebrating Thanksgiving beforehand. What a special time that must have been!
This is the first time we do not even have any major, defintie plans for Thanksgiving - just don't have the heart to do all the prep this year.
No letter yet. I liked the idea of sending him a questionaire for him to fill out and send back - We are going to put that together tonight and send it in tomorrow's letters. We'll keep checking for a letter and just praying for their endurance and ability to deal with homesickness when away. I figure as much as I miss my sone it is so much harder for him as he has no family at all with him. I sure hope all these guys are being the encouraement to one another that they need. Blessings to you and yours at this time. -

Thank You Salma - Although hearing a report of exhaustion and inability to write makes me weep, it gives me direction on how to pray for my son and all the recruits. Any insight to what they are going through is helpful. I will try to be more patient too. May God gives these recruits the strength that they need to accomplish all the tasks before them in an honoring way. Blessings to you - I can't imagine what it must be like to have 2 away at the same time. At least your boys have occasional contact with one another.
