My Daughter Left For Boot Camp 12-10-12 - Are There Any Other Moms Out There?

My daughter left this evening and now I am awaiting her arrival call.  I am so happy for her, proud of her, and scared for her.  She's a lil bit of a thing but I know she can do it.  I don't like waiting much so this will definitely be a learning experience for me.  Hopefully I will get the letter that gives me her mailing address and what ship and division she will be in by the end of the week.

My son is on the plane right now for GL.....waiting for THE call!  So proud of him.  Yes, I have to admit it has been hard to see him go, I am a little worried about things.............hope to sleep well tonight after that call.

Check out the links and groups I mentioned above.

Remember, you have placed him in the best hands of all--those of God and the US Navy.

The best hands indeed!!!

;o)

I was not going to sleep until I got the call from her...  She eventually called around 10:30pm and she sounded like she was in great spirit.

It is good that you got the call and that it wasn't that late (some get calls in the wee hours of the morning).

One day at a time indeed.  I'm still not quite use to her not being here.

Hi luv.. My son arrived at GL on the 10th also. I didn't think it would still be difficult. I miss him so much. His birthday is next week so I'm sure that'll be tough as well. It's amazing to have the support of everyone here. Nice to read all the stories and I look toward to sharing the same milestones with the group (Form Letter, hell week, PIR etc) I'll be sure to write often and I'll encourage his friends to do the same. Thanks to all for your wonderful, encouraging stories. One Friday down, lol.

Lol...  This will be my daughters 1st Christmas away from our family and she will be missed.  I got her "box" a little while ago so hopefully I will get her "letter" within the next couple of days. I'll be looking for your updates on how he is doing and I will share what my daughter's milestones as well.

Well, I got "the box" about 20 minutes ago.  I was hoping to find a note or something from her, but it was just her things.  Oh sigh!!!  Now to wait on "the letter".

My son left on 12/10/12 and I received the box today!

Oh wonderful...  The "letter" will be received soon if you haven't received it by the time you read this... lol
