I know the feeling. Our son signed back I December and he just left on 10/23 from Jacksonville. I can't believe how much stuff they had to do just to join. We did have a great summer with bin a d we also made sure he saw the family before he left.

<p>Hubby rec'd one word text "landed" when plane landed in Chicago around 6:45p. The "I am here" call came around 10:40p (Wed). Hubby was very thankful that it wasn't 1 or 2 am for that call...LOL.</p>

<p>My son got moved up from the 28th to the 21st. I know how you feel. I sat at my desk at work and cried. It was only one week. But, it screwed with my emotional calendar.</p>

<p>Hope you get your call soon. We had gotten a call from our son from the airport, which was very unexpected and we talked about 5 minutes. Then he called our landline with the scripted call while we were out to dinner and running errands. But that's okay, because now his voice message is on our answer machine and we can replay it any time we are missing him. </p>

<p>1) Count 9 Fridays after your recruit arrived at the RTC to get the most likely PIR date (12/21/2012), but know that it could be the week before (12/14/2012) if he was one of the last to fill his division, which happens for some who arrive on a Monday or Tuesday OR it could be the week after or later, which sometimes happens at this time of year due to shortened training weeks due to the holidays. If he is in the 12/21/2012 TG, that would most likely be the Christmas TG and since the "A" Schools shut down for Christmas, he would be among the ones who might get to go home for Christmas. You will just have to wait for the form letter to know te PIR date for certain.</p>
<p>2) P<span style="color: #333333; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;" lang="EN" xml:lang="EN">ay days are the 1st and the 15th (or the weekday prior to that if the 1st or 15th is on a weekend or holiday)</span>, but your SR must be at the RTC a full 3 weeks in order to be paid on the first payday, so 11/15/2012 will most likely be the first payday for your recruit because it takes a while for everything to get entered in the system, but be assured, your Recruit will receive the pay from the day he was sworn in at MEPS on the way to the RTC. If he took a blank check or form 1199A then he will be able to use the account you have set up. </p>
<p>Also know that it will take 3-4 pay days for his pay to settle at what will be the norm for him. Pay days are the 1st and the 15th and they will be paid half of their monthly earnings on each pay day. Remember that state and federal taxes are taken out as well as the premium for life insurance (SGLI, which is about $27 a month). The first few deposits are not the same because the first deposit is prorated from when the Recruit first arrived and that deposit and/or the next one will have deductions for the NEX card the Recruit is issued for the things for the Sea bag and things that are needed at BC and for uniforms. Note that they get a uniform allowance, so money is put in and then taken back out for the various uniform parts, but the uniform allowance and the charges for the uniform may not be in the same pay cycle. His pay depends on his rate; those with a contract for E-2 or E-3 are being paid at that rate even though they are referred to as SR at BC</p> Hey everyone! <p>1) Do we know approximately when graduation will be? I know i dont have the PIR info yet since its so early but i was just wondering in order to book my flight. I have heard different scenarios since of the timing of boot camp. His recruiter said that most likely they will graduate him early, meaning before Christmas and normally if they are state side for Christmas they get to come home for Christmas. Has anyone else heard the same thing? i of course do not want to get my hopes up as this could change.</p>
<p></p>
<p>2) Does anyone know about when they will get paid? Do they get paid when they are in BC? my fiance and i set up a joint bank account in order for me to pay his bills when he is gone, so im kinda depending on that money to arrive. </p>
<p></p>
<p>If anyone can help me answer these questions that would be great! We can all get through this! It is an amazing thing what they are doing! I am very proud. </p> Hi bclmomct - son left MEPS a…tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2012-10-24:1971797:Comment:74317372012-10-24T23:40:21.798ZMommaJerihttps://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/jeri140
<p>Hi bclmomct - son left MEPS around 11:30a to head to airport. He didn't want us to go to the airport, either. His flight wasn't until about 5:30p and should have just landed in Chicago. He still has his cell, so will probably text or call hubby soon. :)</p>

<p>Hi Momma Jeri - we spent the morning with our recruit. They left MEPS at 11:50 for a 2:15 flight. He didn't want us to go to the airport. There were two young women that were leaving also, neither one of their parents were going either, so hopefully they had some time to get to know each other and have a friend once they arrive in Chicago. </p>

<p>Our son did actually say he slept well last night, so we were thankful for that. He had been kind of mopey and moody the last few weeks at home, but the last 3 or 4 days, he has been very excited, so we are excited to see what the Navy does for him. </p>

<p>bclmomct - our son is leaving from Omaha, NE. He is still at MEPS; his plane doesn't leave until later this afternoon (only a 50 min trip by air). Spent all morning with him and watched him get sworn in. He said his nerves got to him last night, so he didn't sleep well; was going to hang with the 3 other recruits and try to grab a catnap...LOL. </p>
<p>Good luck to all our recruits!</p>
