Hello ,my son is in that group we are from Warren PA is Alexander is 20 years old he's a CB and we have had lots of letters and the amazing phone call last week Friday. He sounds very positive and doing very well. He's working hard to accomplish all his goals. He calls himself the mayor,I LOL when he told me that because my son is a people person and loves life. We are so very proud,it has been very had on myself and especially my husband who took it even harder than me, We booked our flight and Hotel and Rental car two weeks into this process, I would like to chat more with familys in this Group and we can get some insight from our loved ones
Looks like your son is graduating from PIR on March 30, 2012 - you should join this group asap. You'll meet all the other families with the same PIR date.
PIR: Mar 30, 2012 TG 20 - 14 Divisions (097–108, 809 & 920)
Just click on the above link and click +join. Good luck.
Way harder than I thought it would be as well.
I am in the process of starting the 03/30/2012 PIR group.
If this has been something you have been thinking about I am asking you to hold off so we don't have duplicate groups. I have a mom as of right now but will still take a friend request (I'll ALWAYS look at those anytime!) with a private message from anyone interested and just put you in line in case hers is a later date!
Please be patient ladies...stay on here and keep reporting in with your Ship/DIV numbers and PIR dates! Thank you for your help!
My son left from Richmond, Virginia on 2/7 and it is very difficult for me. I have had crying jags on and off all day. I'm hoping it gets easier. I also think having him go to basic this time of year when its colder and gets dark early contributes to the sadness.
I cried off and on for a week, my son left 1 week ago, it really helped me to watch the navy videos, so that I could understand a little more about what he is going through. and I have done alot better since watching this. I would recommend it. I found them through this site.
