Tara, have you found out what Ship/Division your son is in yet? My son also shipped out about the same time. He is Ship 11, Div 173. He called me, last week on Friday, which would have been the end of his 2nd week. I missed the call. I was so upset. I didn't think he'd call so soon.

Hi Holly,
My son is ship 3 div 171. I'm so sorry you missed the call. I'd be very upset too. What I've done if I'm going to be somewhere I can't have my phone or I know I won't have a signal, I fwd my calls to my daughter or someone else I'll know will be around. God help me I wish these 'mom' feeli he would go away sometimes. Always wanting to handle things for them. But they are grown and strong. We need to have faith in how we raised them. Let me know if you hear from him. Good luck and God bless.

Tara
My boyfriend called on Saturday and he gave me his address! His parents got his form letter on Saturday. He's on ship 13 div 169. He graduates 5/3. Today I got my first letter from him! I hope he gets to keep writing them! I started sending him letters on Monday and have sent one everyday since. Hopefully he's been getting them. I'm sorry to hear that you missed your son's call. I'm lucky enough where I can keep my phone with me at work so it rings I can answer. Hopefully you'll get to talk to him the next time he calls!

Join the group, PIR 05/03/2013 TG 25 - 11 Divisions (167-176 and 925), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Know that Divisions 169 and 170 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There is a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

Your reeruit is only able to write during holiday routine on Saundays now, but later the division may be allowed to write on other days as well.  (See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).)

I see you have joined Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors; you may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups as well as in the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Other groups to check out are Navy Girlfriends, PROUD NAVY GIRLFRIENDS:), and Boot Camp Girlfriends

(Group names within this reply are clickable links.)

That's awesome! I'm glad you got to speak with him and get his adddress. I've been writing a letter everyday since my son left. (Div 171) His PIR is 5/3 too. Hopefully we'll get letters soon too!
