Hey there Celticwoman2 - yes, for me as well ... I haven't been on here in a few years. WELCOME! My son is going into his 8th year. Nice to know we still get emails when someone posts :o)

I agree with the others. Tap into your PIR date's group on N4M here. The folks who run the pages give you all kinds of valuable bootcamp/graduation information. Once your sailor graduates BC, you can get onto their 'school's' N4M group. Finally, you definitely want to get on their ship's…

Once your sailor graduates BC, you can get onto their 'school's' N4M group. Finally, you definitely want to get on their ship's group. That one is REALLY important to be on, especially when they are deployed. Being part of N4M has been a life saver to keep up with all the dos/don'ts and camaraderie. The folks here really know there stuff and you just can't get it anywhere else!!!!
Join now.
Thank you for the info! I've gotten a lot of it from this site - very much appreciated! Still haven't gotten that phone call - he landed about 3 hours ago - is typical to take this long to get the call that he's there?

Several years ago this page went down for about a month and I think that many of the folks on here ended up joining FB pages for support. We are regrowing and are happy to help.

You will get a phone call late tonight (So go ahead and call his cell phone and visit until he gets to the bus!!) that is a Scripted "I'm here" call. They sound so robotic so be prepared! Just go ahead and talk over him... tell him you love him and are proud of him and that he can do this!!! Then begins the HARD part!! You will get the KIB (Kid in a Box) in about a week. That box will have everything he took to BC an sent home. It comes FedEx and has to be signed for so if you won't be home you can leave a not on the door or go and pick it up once you get the notice. In about 3ish weeks you will get the form letter. At that point you can send all the letters that you have written (Starting today!!!)! Number them and keep them positive and upbeat!! You will get the "I'm still alive" call around week 4. They are often homesick and there may be tears (On both ends!!) Try and be STRONG and hold off the tears till you are off the phone! After that they have communications a bit more and it is easier!!
Welcome to the roller coaster!!
Hello!! So glad to hear from…tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2019-07-31:1971797:Comment:106153162019-07-31T02:01:14.205ZCelticwoman2https://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/125476398

Hi! I haven't been on here in forever. Where are you located? My daughter is done and back and just passed the 8 year mark. I'm in Littleton. It's been so long for me, I'm not sure I can be anything except supportive. :-) Just wanted to jump in and say congratulations, and thank your son for his service!
