Jingle Bells… Jingle Bells… Jingle and the way to the Crew of the

     USS RENTZ

3 Females and 240 Males Aboard

We are heading back to sea and sending out love out to the USS Rentz FFG 46.  They are currently assisting the Coast Guard performing drug enforcement off the coast of South America.  They are about midway of their eight-month deployment and ready for some love from home!

We would like to send each sailor a small VHS sized box filled and wrapped as a Christmas gift to be opened on Christmas morning.  If you pack them carefully you can fit eight of this smaller box in a large FPO box.  That is a total of 300 VHS boxes...  are you ready moms??

Pillowcases are a go!  They will have them set out for the guys to choose from on Christmas day.

Remember it is warm where they are- still in the 90 degree range every day!  So there is no need of warm hats or gloves for this group... even Santa will want to slip into his bathing suit for this delivery!

Let's show them our mom love and send the very best for the Christmas  Hannuka  Kwanza Holiday… Season

What fun!

Susan,  thanks for letting us know!  How very very exciting!!

I received this email today.

Just wanted to send a quick email to you and Thank you for the sweet
cards you sent to us. I am xxxxxx on the USS RENTZ.

Some people don't have family onboard so what you kind people are doing
for us means the world! God bless you all

I'm sure they are just getting a head start on Thank You's but man does it break my heart when I read that some don't have family support!

Kim…. Thank you so much for sharing  this!  It made my day. :)

If anyone gets pictures would you please post them?

I got an email from LPO G.S. thanking me for the packages and saying it was like I knew exactly what they needed!! Really nice to receive a note - I had just written one letter and photocopied it on Christmas stationary.  It made my day - plus I received an a-mail from my nuke son (on a sub) yesterday.  It had been 28 days (not that I'm counting) since I had heard from him. Happy dance here!!!!

This is wonderful!!!!   Do you think you could email me a copy of your Christmas stationery?????

I like to use this as my thanks you to everyone that had been so supportive of my packing party.

If you don't mind here's my email address

donnabreunig@yahoo.com

Thank you :)

ps  This thank you, it is from the USS RENTZ isn't it?  Just wanted to confirm that.

Donna - I did not keep a copy of the actual letter I mailed.  Intended too, but was trying to hurry and get to the post office before they closed and ended up sending my original.  The actual stationery I used came from the Dollar Tree. It had a blue border with snowflakes. I will show my ignorance - I know how to send you an e-mail, but I don't know how to e-mail you a copy of the stationery!! Help.

I understand…. The only way you'd be able to do that would be if you had a scanner or a copier that allowed you to email a document.

No problem.  Thank you anyway. :)

donna

Donna, I did the same as Gulf Coast Mom and used x-mas stationary I bought years ago. Didn't have a use till now. I can scan in a blank copy if you're still interested. I printed a partial family letter on the paper and included it in a hand written card.

CruAN,  I would love it!  Thank you.

my email address is donnabreunig@yahoo.com

My daughters friend who asked to help with this adoption messaged me this morning that she had gotten a thank you! She is over the moon HAPPY! She works in the medical field so this was especially great for her!

Hello Lorraine
My name is XXXXX and I am one of 2 Corpsman on board the USS Rentz.
I would like to thank you very much for the box of goodies you sent. I
split them up between a few of the sailors and they were very happy.
Please continue to do what you are doing. I don't know how many people
write back to you and say thank but ill let you know right now that it
is a wonderful thing that you are doing. And please continue with the
hand written card because to me that shows that so much work and thought
went into this. Thank you so much from one medical person to another.
Merry Christmas Lorraine
Oh, and she asked when the next shipping started!  I just love being a part of this wonderful group!!!

She received another one this afternoon! She is so happy!

Miss Lorraine,
I recently received one of your care packages and I just
wanted to say, Thank You. It's been a long and difficult deployment so
far, especially being so far away from home. Now that the holidays are
closing in, and with us not being able to be around friends and family,
having a complete stranger care enough to send sweet holiday tidings is
a good feeling. I just wanted to say that I appreciate you very much. My
hometown is Canyon, Texas. So it's nice to hear from someone so close to
home. I've been in the Navy for about five years now, and I'm on my
second deployment currently. It's always hard when we have to be
underway during the holidays, and this time is no different. If you're
looking for someone to write to, I wouldn't mind having someone to talk
to either. I hope this email finds you well. I pray that you and your
family have a very Merry Christmas.
I am so glad that what we do is making a difference in the lives of these sailors!
