Hi!

My son leaves for bootcamp on 10/1, also, and will be at Great Lakes on 10/2.  His job is Corpsman.  My son will also be going to Texas after graduation.  Not from Jersey....we're Buckeyes from Ohio!  :)

Hi !

Great news then, our boys will be together for a while. Corpsman was Michael's other choice, so i'm sure he will be excited to get to know someone through BC , then Texas. The days are going by awful fast now aren't they ?? First it was 5 1/2 months, then BAM! It's days!!  If you haven't heard already, you might want to check out this website callsforrecruits.org  . A retired Navy dad and his wife run the site, his son is enlisted and he is also on this forum, and if you email him, he will email you back scanned pre-paid phone cards to send with your son to call home. I got them in a few days, its a very nice site he is running. Next on the agenda is to pack up his room, so we know exactly whay he wants us to send to A school, That will be a tough one :(  For now we are spending every moment we can with him. His last day of work is next week, then he gets to goof off until he leaves..He is 23 and I also have a 19 year old in college ( locally thank god ).

Why does it take a whole day for him to get to BC ? Curious..

Keep in touch :)
