My son left on January 21st and has only called once (about a week ago). Of course, I missed the call :(. Just wondering how often they are allowed to call in Boot Camp?? I thought that it would be atleast once a week.
Hi Hoppi aka Angie, I was wondering if there was a way to know when battlestations is for ship 09 div.132? I've had 1 call when he arrived and he couldn't do the 2nd because of getting wisdom teeth out. Thanks for any info. Colleen in PA
I got 4 calls altogether. 1) the "Hi mom, I'm here!" 2) I need info for my security clearance (not much chatting in that one!) 3) The only really nice long chatty 20 minute call and 4) "Hi mom, I'm a sailor!" Guess I was lucky.
Calls are a reward not a right. If your recruit's division does well, they'll get a call, if someone screws up, none of them get a call. Doesn't sound fair but that's one way they keep the smart mouths in check....peer pressure.
Getting calls can also depend on the individual RDC that your son has during BC. I only got the I'm here call, 1st phone call, second call was barely missed- it would have been like a couple minutes long if we had connected, and the Sailor call. Some divs get lots of calls. My loved one's div ended up doing very well and they still didn't get phone calls like some of the other divs.
