Many of my fellow NMs have stayed at the Navy Lodge and enjoyed it.

But my husband and I stayed for 04/01 and 09/09 PIRs at Waukegans Residence Inn - Marriott. It was clean and quiet, and Mon thru Fri they had a good hot breakfast with juice & coffee... and Mon-Fri evenings about 5:30pm, they had a free light dinner with beer, pop, coffee, etc !! We had hamburgers one night... meatloaf another night. Really saved on cost of food for us, since we wanted to splurge on dinners…

April stay was only $79 per night... but Sept 9th must have been summer prices, and think we paid $100 per night. But that gave us large bed, sleeper sofa, and a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, etc.

Hotel provided good directions and packet for navy families. I would definitely stay there again.

Oh... most important thing: We told them we were coming in for PIR, and they told us that we could cancel up to that MORNING! and not get charged. wow... great thing to verify when one small thing can cause a delay in PIR date.
