"Darkhorse" is the name given to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, the most highly decorated regiment in the Marines. These young men are currently serving in Afghanistan. There are five companies in this battalion and this represents a large number of Marines who would appreciate any love we can send their way.
Weapons Company received several care packages in December and then HAE moved on to Lima Company. When all have finished up mailing their boxes, Lima Company will be put to "bed." The next, and probably last company, we will do is Kilo Company. There are about 170 Marines in this group, all males. The mailing date for Kilo Company is February 7. This should give us enough time to get sufficient pillowcases ready for mailing. As with every project, we need to have sufficient pillowcases for each Marine in the company to receive one.
For OPSEC reasons, I would appreciate your letting me know via PM (make me a friend on N4M if I am not already one) the number of pillowcases you will send in your box.
Sue sent me this "Semper Fi" poster. I watched the video about the Marines in Bethesda. The attitude of the Marines who have suffered terrible injuries is absolutely amazing. Here is a link with a video of Kilo Company.

Natalie, they all look great. I have made aprons out of that dog fabric and I love paw print fabric!
have you seen the cats at the beach too? love those prints.
Thank you!
No, I haven't seen the cats at the beach but I will watch for it. I love cats. I have 3 cats plus Charlie who thinks she's their mom. I liked the print last year of the junk yard dogs and the cat one too. used some of that. think that was ft hood or one before that.
Great, Natalie. It always seems others find such interesting patterns. Are those fish on the one that is in upper left-hand corner. Now I really like the German shepherd one. I have had a couple of shepherds that were the greatest pets.
BTW, I love cats too. We have two who own the house. Each wonders why the other has to be there and there is only a cautious truce in our house at most times. Last night one realized that the other did not realize she was right behind her. That was way too tempting and she pounced. She is not the playful one so I think it was more of an opportunity to get the upper hand.
The first one in the upper left is a tie-dye print and the second one is tye-die with red, white and blue stars. I saw the tye-die prints at Jo Ann's and remembered somone's pcs looking so great that I thought I would do some too.
That's funny about your cats!! I love that they each have such a diff personality! dogs do too but cats can be so funny to watch.
Yes they are. I cannot tell you how much I love their fabric. The quality it top-notch and you can't beat their sale right now. Just be sure you only order the ones where the item number starts with QQF. Otherwise you pay full price. I just ordered $450 dollars worth of fabric for $150. And all of that is from sponsorship funds. God is good. He provides at the right time. If I can get some more of these pc's sponsored out, I might be able to place one more order before the sale is over. That would save me a bundle in the long run.
Here are the last 4 in this batch. More to follow as soon as my order of fabric arrives.
