They are currently traveling via military transport so we cannot say 100% when they will leave, Only your Sailor can provide that information. In many cases those leaving are shipped to their A school on Saturday. In some cases they don't leave till Sunday or Monday so you would get those days as well. If they are moved to THU (Temporary Holding Unit) on the A school side you will have more time over all but again there is NO WAY to know until closer to PIR or in some cases at PIR. This is why I said be flexible. You really won't know till you know. As a Marine Wife I'm sure you are used to this to some extent.
There are a lot of differences but there is a LOT that will be the same. Depending on her chosen job it may be even more similar or it could be completely the opposite!

Yes, I have stopped checking on my phone unless it's just a quick answer otherwise I am on my computer. It's just easier.
Here's a Link for using it on your phone however...
https://navyformoms.ning.com/group/bootcampmoms/forum/topics/help-viewing-n4m-s-on-my-phone-mobile-optimized-view-vs-desktop-v

No worries! No her A school is not in GL so she will be flying out. I am learning nothing is like the usmc and after 20yrs with that branch I am finding I cannot compare a single thing.

I will need to figure out what time we have with her.

I would love to check out the Mother's of Daughter's group, whenever you have a free moment to point me in that direction. I am using my mobile, which as you said, is proving to not be the most ideal in navigating.

Enjoy your dinner with your family!

Cda2202 - You are welcome! We are use to helping the new members figure out how to navigate this site. I find it easier to view this site on my computer versus a mobile device.

Also, each military branch is different with how their graduations look. Stick around and you will find our more. Also, if you go to the RTC website and view one of the previous PIRs then you will have a better idea of what to expect for your new sailor.

Will your daughter be staying in GL for her A school or flying out? That will also affect what your weekend looks like. There is a Mother's of Daughters group on this site as well but i have to close and help my daughter go get dinner fixed.
Good afternoon! Good afternoon! I cannot thank you both enough for your replies! Very informative and helpful! The family days the usmc does at graduation was also something I wondered about, so thank you for touching on that.

I am grateful for the weekly breakdown, it has put my mind at ease. It was so nice to come out of church and have that worry lifted by your comment.

Thanks for your time, as I navigate the forum and where to address my questions!

Cda2202 - be sure to also check out the RTC bootcamp website - Recruit Training Command Home Page (navy.mil) - There is a lot of information there, including how / where to go about picking up your tickets for PIR. In the form letter that BBH mentioned, there should be a security form.
Everyone who helps on the main BC page where you posted earlier volunteers their time. Sunday Mornings tend to be super quiet since many of us are at our local worship services. Your question will be answered but if it does seem that it's been skipped you are welcome to post again. The Main page gets the most views and you are more likely to get your questions answered there.

The Expected timeline will look like this
Day 0 -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call (Oct 5 or early morning 6th)

Week 1&2
Day 1-14 -- ROM (Restriction of Movement/ Quarantine-- Lots of studying and waiting)(Oct 6-19) Unless they are Fully Vaccinated (2 weeks after final shot) in which case they skip straight to Week 3.

Week 3
Day 15-21 Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend)(You are here! She is through day 3 of P-days and this is the P-hold Weekend)
Day 21-- Complete P days. (Initial PFT & Run)

Week 4- First week of training
Day 22-- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later

Week 5 -- First inspections and tests (Dental May be this week or next... Not Confirmed)(Form letter/ Personal letters usually arrive this week)

Week 6 -8 -- More training, Drilling (Flags and Marching), Fire Fighting training, Marlinspike (Line handling- How to tie up a Ship to the Pier) and weapons lessons, Confidence chamber( May or may not be happening yet, we don’t know for sure).. Warrior training in here somewhere.

Week 9 & 10 -- Stressful!! They have all their final inspections, PFA, Drills, BS21 and Tests. This is the lead up to the end!!

We have heard that some SR's are having an additional 2 weeks added for "Life Skills" Training. We have not yet had confirmation that Every SR will have these 2 weeks added or if they will happen before or after PIR. Also There is No "Parents Weekend" like the USMC. While USMC is part of the Department of the Navy, that is one of the few things they will have in common.

As for PIR weekend-- There will be more details in your Form letter but basically you and your husband (Or who ever will be attending PIR) Will need to show your Immunization card to pick up your tickets. Currently only 2 people are allowed to attend PIR. You need to be 2 weeks past your second injection unless you have the J&J (Just 1 shot)
You may be close to Christmas so keep your schedule flexible-- You may have extra time with her there if she's staying in GL for A school. Your PIR would be on a Wed. due to the holiday weekend.
