Hi everyone,
I got the dreaded call yesterday to say my kiddo that left for Great Lakes on 01/20 was now being put in RCU for 2 weeks. The call was scripted and the only thing that was said is they are not injured? Does anyone know what this could mean?

Hi Mindy - he could have been moved to RCU for help in passing part of his PFA.  He might not have made his run time or something - they will work with him to get him to pass.

Here's the link to the RCU group - it's not real active but you can read through some of the posts and see how it works.  Remember, no news is good news!  Fingers crossed he passes what he needs to and gets back with his division ASAP.  Stay positive!

RCU

Mindy-- You may want to post this question on the main bc page too.  I know not everyone monitors all the pages!
There are several reasons he could be in RCU.  He could be ill he could need extra help.  You know as much why as we do.  He is not injured and he is there for 2 weeks. If you have his address you can and should keep writing. You may want to add "IN RCU" to the envelope to help it get to him sooner.  I am NOT an advocate for Sandboxx but this is one of the situations where sending him a word of encouragement sooner than later is helpful.  You may want to use it for this purpose (IN BC ONLY!!!! NEVER IN THE FLEET) He is the only one who can tell you why and when he moves back into training he is the only one who can share the new address.
