Thank you for the good advice and the encouragement to provide for him.
Thanks Jeanie, I appreciate the prayers for him. I'm sure it will get better. It is hard not hearing from them!
Hi Jodi, I'm sure things will get better for him,it takes some getting use to. Keeping you guys uplifted in prayer.
Jodi B, that first phone call is always the hardest. When my son called home in the background I could hear other people crying and such. Also heard the RDC yelling at them that if they kept crying that they wouldn't be able to stay on. Though his voice cracked a couple of times when we talked to him. He did not cry because he wanted to talk to us.
You did great by encouraging him. Just keep that going, it is so hard to be away from home. Doesn't matter the time (thought holiday are tougher), they are in a new environment, people are yelling and screaming at them. Nothing they seem to do is right but it is all for a cause to get them ready for the fleet. That first phone call is always really hard (talking from personal experience-I told my mom, I made a huge mistake and was ready to come home). It is so hard to hear your child crying and not be there to fix it.
Hopefully, the next call you get he will feel more confident about his surroundings. It took a little bit for my son to fill like he was finally understanding how things worked.
Thank you for those words of encouragement and sharing your own personal experience. It was much needed today and helped a lot.
