Looking for others who have a loved one that will be attending A School in San Antonio.  My son is to PIR on 12/2/11 and then, head to SA.  I love that he will be back in Texas and just 4 hours away from me.  Well, at least for 14 weeks....

Cubmom, my daughter is Ship 07 Division 009.

She is going to San Antonio.  We are very lucky... she will only be 2 1/2 hours away (at least for a while).

We are in Rockport.  Where are you?

I live in Clifton, Texas.  I live about 4 hours away.  I am so ready for PIR.  I am up tonight packing and trying to get my other 2 boys everything they will need while I am away.  We are leaving out Wednesday morning flying out of Waco in to Dallas then Chicago.  When are you guys leaving?  Have you heard anything about Xmas leave?

Cubmom, heard from one of the moms whose daughter's PIR was 11/10 and is already down there.  She said they should get 10 days for holiday time, and that doesn't come out of their leave time.

Hi Cubmom, my nephew is SA bound for A School.  He's Ship 07 Division 011 and is PIR 12/02.  We're live in Chicago and were blessed to see him and a buddy on Thanksgiving Day for a few hours.  It was a bittersweet time.  Looking forward to PIR tomorrow at GL!!!

Ok Guys!!!  The tears are cleared and we are ready to get started again.  I have heard from my Sailor and he his loving the campus!!!  I hope your Sailor is also.  He was so excited to have a bathroom and a nice sized bed.  He said they could control there temperature in the room and will have cable and internet within the next 2 weeks.   It has already been so nice to be able to talk to our Sailors--I talked to my 3 times yesterday after he landed in SA.  Having there phones make alot of difference.  My son was so excited about coming home for Xmas. Said they would have leave from 12/16-1/3 ---but, that they would be using their time.  I am in the process of starting a page for the New Sailors that have just landed in SA for A School.  I hope to have things up and going pretty quick... Can't wait to start sharing our stories again.  Well again, congrats to all the New Sailors and their families!!!!!

Hi there! My son was DIV 903 now PIR 02/12 he is in SA now for A school, say has nice room bu didn't met his room mate, any update about free time for christmas and New Year? will go against vacation time or not? Please nned info.

I'm so sorry I missed you at PIR - it was such a hectic time!  I hope we can stay in touch though!

it was very hectic.  Not to even go into it but, my husband isn't a social person.  So, that didn't help matters at all.  Yes, I would love to keep in touch.  My phone number at home is 254-675-2493 and my cell is 254-326-8319.  Hope you enjoyed PIR it was overwhelming.  I loved it though.  I was so glad to see my son do something with his life.  All the way home it was a little crazy.  People asking about him and things and then they would tell me to tell him thanks for serving our country.  I would start crying --nnot only do they have to hold and act different so do we.  You prob went through the same things.  Just a different feeling....hope to talk soon.  So sorry I missed you.Tell your loved one congrats and thanks for everything.  OOO and tell her thanks for sharing you with me......your a very good friend and those are hard to find.....Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.....

Hi Cubmom,

I think we were in the airport together when the kids flew out!

My daughter is also said they will need to use their time and is now debating the best days to take. I am jusgt happy to have her come home even if for a few days! She seems very happy there and is rooming with another girl from Division 009... and in true fashion of my very girly child bought a Disney Princess blanket for her bed! Got to love that child!!

I have been watching for a facebook page for us San Antonio moms as well, it is easier to monitor on my phone. Let me know!!

My son is rooming with something from Tennessee.  Anyone related to him?
