I'll be checking in here when I can.  My son is in Div 801.  We got the form letter yesterday and we just booked our flight for graduation.

Thanksgiving will be extra special for this group.

I'm kind of excited that I don't have to cook this year. :)

It eally is a memorable time with your son. The 800 div. comes through the doors last and wait until you feel the energy in the room when they are announced. Gives me chills thinking about it.

We took the younger ones to Disney last Thanksgiving, doesnt look like I will be getting out of it this year.
We just got back from the Chicago Marathon (we're all runners, but my husband does marathons) and am now catching up a bit.  I got chills just reading about PIR and the 800 divisions.  My son is in 801 as well.  I cannot wait and yes Thanksgiving will be extra special!
As far as I know this group (SEALs/BUDS) will be staying at GL for another 8-10 weeks after PIR  for pre-BUDS. Even though we only live about an hour away, we will be making reservations down there for a couple of days. I hope to get that done this evening yet.  I know I've read on the general 11/23 PIR group that families have begun to make their reservations.  Unfortunately we live just over the 50 mile requirement so won't be bringing our sailor home for Thanksgiving.  We'll do something down there.

I know a place in Lincolnshire called Flatlanders will be having Thanksgiving brunch.  We are considering it as it close to our hotel but it is pricey.  Just google it.  We might also just do our meal at our hotel as it has a kitchen; just a scaled back version of it.  We'll have to see.

During my son's PIR weekend he had to be back every night at 8 pm. Unfortunately he wont know that answer until PIR morning. Some divisions get them the whole weekend and some do not.

I already made reservations.  We're flying in on Monday and leaving late Friday night.  I have a friend with family in Chicago so she's getting some info on restaurants for Thanksgiving dinner.  I'll pass the info along when I get it.

So far it seems just me, navywife and willow for DIV 801? Would be nice to find others as well.  We'll have to make sure we let each other know what we find out when letters start arriving how the division is doing as a team, when phone calls might be happening, etc.  Are either of you on FB?  RTC has an awesome page that is also full of information and support.  They also do a couple of contests a week.  The winner gets to name their recruits division which is then photographed with their recruit in the front and posted on the FB page.

You can also join the SEAL Group, your son doesnt have to be a seal yet to join. Tons of information there.
