Our daughter is also in this group.  Hoping to hear from her soon! We got her form letter so sending her lots of mail but cant wait to get some mail back!

YES!!  My son is in 02/906 and will graduate 12/29/11! =)

Any idea when they can make their first phone call?

Got my first "real" letter yesterday.  It made me laugh and cry at the same time.

I have no idea about phone calls.  I'm hoping for Thanksgiving but I don't know if regular recruits get to call or just the recruits on the Adopt-a-Sailor program.

We got our first letter 2 days ago.  Our daughter seemed to be doing well.  She said she is homesick but has made a couple good friends.  She was actually looking forward to PT!  But not looking forward to probably getting wisdom teeth pulled! Hoping for more letters soon!

Has anyone received a call from Ship 02 Div 906? Mail has been slow getting to us so no letters yet. Want to make sure everything is OK before making PIR reservations.

No call yet.  I would love to hear her voice, but I figure no news is good news in this case.

This is all very exciting. My wife is there right now in Div 906. I've recieved a few letters from her so far but nothing in about a week. I sent her stamps, i dont know if there is a restriction on getting them from the RTC's. I want to send a phone card but i dont know if she will get to use it or if it will just be confiscated. Any one sent one yet or know if its worth it. I just want to get a call :D

As far as I know the only way they would be able to call, if and when given permission, would be by using a phone card.  I would hope the RDC's would let that through, a reloadable one would be worth trying to send.  Send it with $10.00 loaded and then you can reload it online if needed.  I actually sent my daughter with two phone cards and told her if anyone didn't have a way to call then pass one along :)

I wasn't even thinking in that last reply...your wife has the opportunity to purchase a phone card at the NEX.  My guess is that she has probably already done that in anticipation of calling you!  :)

Thanx, hopefully they get the chance to call today... were all waiting :D

Anyone get a call yesterday for Thanksgiving?
