lala is going to check on red, white and blue ribbons.....would ya'll be interested in those, or stick with blue?  I'm not sure myself.

I may try one of each and intertwine them.

Whatever Lala thinks would be great. I had her make a ribbon for my son who had PIR in November. This time around its his twin! The ribbons are great I gave some with the photos to family members and they loved them!

Praying that everyone gets letters tomorrow. I wonder if they realize that getting mail is just as important to us?

I just want him to concentrate on himself for a change.

I think being away from all the distractions will be good for him.

How long is A school for those going to SC as an ET?

I'm thinking I read 26 somewhere. After that then what?

He was told his schooling would be just over 2 years then on to being on a ship or sub for 4 years.

Don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I'm praying nightly for the success of all of our youngmen in dvision 914.

It's ironic that we are helping each other get through this and our sons are probably helping each other get through this.

They don't even know that their moms may know each other.

This forum is absolutely the best thing that could have happened for me. I am so much more at peace and I know it is from hearing from all of you gals

It was a "Red Letter" day!!! Well the letter wasn't really red( or all that significant for that matter) but it was awesome to hear from him.  Very short like last time. Only thing he shared was that it was "great" ! (Didn't expect that!), he passed his swim test, and his division has been practicing for gradution b/c he was in a special division. Also that he is starting to get more time to write(maybe he has finally mastered ironing and folding haha).I'll take what I can get! He doesn't like to write unless he can type it.

Has anyone heard when they will be leaving  for A school in SC? My letter today was sad. My SR was sad he had been on watch for the last 2 nights & only had 4 hrs. of sleep total. He also reminded me when he called hm that he only was able to get a hold of his gf's mom but was thankful he got a hold of somebody. I was so sad last wk when I missed his call I cried & cried. I know that God has a purpose for everything. My husband was sad as well but said, " It will make him a stronger man!" However my SR said he'd probably be fine as soon as he got some sleep. :)

My son thinks he is leaving on Saturday for Charleston. I read somewhere on this site that the bus leaves at 2 a.m. with all the sailors no matter what their flight time is.  We can go to O'Hare and get passes to sit with him until they depart.  Sorry you missed his call, I would be heartbroken.  Tuesday I actually left my bosses office during a meeting to get my cell phone.  Good thing I did, 10 minutes later when I got to my desk, he called.  Sorry boss- call from my SR is more important than this meeting.

Most of the Sailors will leave the base between 2 and 5 am to go to the airport. Most will go to Ohare but some will also go to Midway and Milwaukee. It is a really good idea to send an index card in one of your letters and have a list on it for your Sailor to fill out with flight info. It should have; Airport, airline, gate number, Flight number, flight time, etc. They don't get this info until the day before or morning of PIR. They can fill it out as soon as they get their flight info and give it to your right after PIR. They can't always remember their info off the top of their head and you don't want to end up at the wrong airport ;-)

My son is going to MS anyone know anything about what time he leaves. I really want to be there for him

My son is headed to Pensacola for a lengthy A school, I think it is like 4 or 5 months.....

Hey twins, nice to meet you, what will he be training for in Pensacola
