Chels - what are you me, meing about??
To all - If you are on Facebook, please "like" the US Navy Recruit Training Command! There are contests every Monday and Tuesday and if you win, you get to request a photo of your division! I tried today and was so nervous I couldn't type fast enough! Anyway, I could use some help! Let's get a photo of our SR's!
lol... there and plan on starting tomorrow!!! I sooo wanna see my kid, as does everyone else I am sure!
Great thanks! It is pretty hard to win - but I am going to keep trying!
Nothing worth having comes easy...
No worries... we will all keep trying till we see our DIV!!! I am even recruiting friends on FB to help! lol... as a mother I have no shame...
Hi:  Received my first letter today letting me know his Division and Graduation date.  My Son is Jordan and we are from Sacramento.  BTW my name is Sandra.  Glad to be here.

Aww... our boys are in the same ship/div!!! So cool.

I am glad you got your letter. did he sound like he was doing ok?

Yes, he said he was fine.  He talked about making his bed the proper way and not getting any sleep the first 48 hours.  He says they get 8 hours of sleep now and only 15 min to get their food and eat (3x a day).  No signs of stress or wanting out.  That was comforting.  Mailed my first letter to him today.  Sent it priority, although I don't think he will get it any sooner.  It just made me feel better...lol.  We made our flight and hotel reservations yesterday.  I love the count down.  Gives me great joy to know that I'm going to see my son soon.
See, I got none of that detail. The letter I got was all about the girlfriend. I used to tease Christian about eating like someone who had not eaten in a week... he would hover over his plate and shovel it in like someone was waiting to steal his food... I am pretty confident that he has plenty of time to eat... I told him he had been training for this his whole life! Now, the loss of sleep is another thing entirely... The letter was very comforting though, but now I am anxious for more. I keep trying to remember that no news is good news, but it is so hard. We are driving, but the hubby is making our hotel reservations as we speak. I am so excited I can hardly stand the wait.

Welcome Sandra...I think you will love this site...

While I am here...we all need to get together Thursday night before PIR...Happy Hour somewhere?  We are staying at the Residence Inn in Waukegan but can go anywhere...How about it Moms and others...are you in?
