Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 063 and 064

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi everyone!  My son is ship 03 Div 063. He will he going to A school in Monterrey, CA. He is CTI.

I spoke to him on the phone last Saturday for 30 minutes :) yay me!  He sounded good. Passed his swim test. He told me that basically it still sucks, they were still in week one.  He had a lot of P-days.  He got to eat turkey on Thanksgiving, and he hates waking up in the middle of the night for his iron watch.  There is no time to iron during the day....so they each have a slotted time at night to do their ironing. This made me giggle!  The business of the holidays is helping me pass the time!  I hope you all are hanging in there. So proud of our kids.

My SR is Ship 03 Div 064. And I received my first letter today!

My son is ship 03 div 064 & we have talked twice.  The first time was emotional for him.  The second time he was not as bad, but still ho hum.  I don't know if I have a letter or not.....Will need to check the Post Office later today.  My phone calls have been brief and mostly to tell me he's fine, it's hard, etc.  Haven't heard much about his thoughts on food, how thanksgiving was, how he's getting along with others and what it's been like beyond its hard.  He did tell me about PT day and that there was an issue there (not with him).  Hoping there's a letter today!

Our son also said he made ship staff ( I don't know what that means) and that he will get to work around the ship and not just in the compartment.  He also said they have some in the group that are causing issues.  He said they were taking PFA's (don't know what that is either) and someone took a training time out which caused none of them to be able to rank up.  Other than that he didn't elaborate.

When my son called last Saturday he told me the same story about Pfa's (Physical Fitness Assessment) & he was pretty upset about it (that they lost the rank up....it wasn't him).  Says he's doing ok; some worse than him.  My son was in a leadership role right off and as I understand it the cycle the SR' s in those roles to see who could handle it.  Mine wasn't crazy about it.  As for the rank up loss, something tells me this will be rectified.  Keep asking....

Oh thanks, I think I saw they take a final PFA sometime later in the training and maybe then they will give what is deserved by the ones who didn't get it last time around.

PFA Physical Fitness Assessment  :)

my son is also in that group!!!

Our son Connor is in 03/64 and we got letters today too.  yay!

I got my first letter today also. My son is in the same group.

My son is in Div 064 also. Got a letter Thursday 12/12.  Although his division isn't totally disciplined yet they are like brothers and he loves everyone there. He really admires his senior chief for all he does for them and the 16 hour days he spends with them instead of his family.

I sensed an awful lot of respect from my son for his RDC (064).  Says he's tough, but really good and wants them all to be the best that they can be.  They're struggling a bit with a few, too.  I think they'll get it together, though.

I also took note to the fact that while they may be struggling, my son has had two additional calls since his I'm here call.  This tells me even though they're struggling they could be doing something right!
