Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 175 - 176

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi friends- my son is with your kids, in Div 176.

I got a call today, it was so great to see that Waukegan IL come up on the caller id!

Yay!! Congratulations on the call Aime and Wine!! I got my call yesterday and enjoyed every word she said! I hope to meet you soon.
SeafordMom, hi! My daughter is in the same Div. 176 and going to Pensacola as well! Hope to meet all of you ladies in May!

Hi there! My son is Ship 3 Div175. I was also so happy to get my call last night! Nice to chat with other moms here :)

I got a surprise call today family. My son had to do another call for more info. I guess who ever was monitoring him was super nice because we talked almost an hour.
He said that he passed all of his swimming test except for the floating face down. He says he was a little worried that he won't "Get" it. But I assured him that he would. I was sooooooooo Happy when he said he passed everything else though. I was worried about that part myself but if all he missed was that floating his first go around, That's Great. I asked him if his other ship mates and division brothers and sisters who were trying to encourage him and he said Yes so that was good. He is can of an to his self kind of guy, but he is making friends. When he flew out of Atlanta, there were 4 SR's within. He says that 2 of them went home but he didn't know Why. I feel really bad for them. I got the chance to sit and talked with them and they were all nice boys. I hung around them for awhile because I was the only Mom there and just wanted to make sure they were all OK (The Mom in me kicked in...lol). 2 of them have already been sent home. I read on an earlier post that one of the SR's was going hom. I didn't get his name but it made so sad for him. The SR's were upset as well. I told him to ALWAYS pray for others when you see them down.
I also asked about Ship 3. I told him that I heard that his ship was kicking butt. He laughed and said that they ALWAYS tell him how bad they are doing.
I wonder if they ALLLLLL tell them that for motivation.
We went through some personal stuff and he politely informed me when I asked questions that he couldn't talk about it but I know that comes with the military but also his rate.
Im just glad I got time talk to him with out restrictions. I'M Looking forward to the next call on Saturday.

That is so wonderful! I enjoyed hearing a bit of scoop on our ship!!  I hope they all get through swim time swiftly and easily! Yay for surprise calls!

Hello USS HOPPER people-  One month to go!  On the FB PIR group some are starting to gather ideas for the meet & greet tables and gift baskets. Any thoughts or suggestions?  One mom has started a centerpiece already so 176 will be representin!

Mamabear & I would like to make up a TX basket- any other Texans around?

Hi Denise!  If you can, join up on the PIR Facebook page, they are starting to come up with suggestions, and you might find other Washingtonians who would pitch in with you on the basket, too!   The centerpieces are mainly to mark each division so that we can find one another. There are some cute ideas on Pinterest, if you like pinteresting.

I am excited about the prospect of a SEATTLE basket!  Many good memories of WA!!

I feel like I'm really late to this group.  I've know about this site every since my daughter first signed up last November but it seemed odd to join before she left.  I didn't realize there was a place for Deppers and now I'm like three weeks late for the start of her boot camp.

My SR is in ship 3 div 176.  She's doing great and I'm so proud of her.  Hopefully a few of you who already been on the page for a while could reach out.  I'd be happy to help with anything that will make their PIR day better.

Hi Browneyedmama & Denise- Glad to have you with us!  My son is in the 176. He called yesterday and said things were going along good, they are working together better etc. He's in charge of studies with his group.

We need to motivate our 175/176 people to get to know one another!

Are you planning to attend sarge' s meet and greet on Thursday the 7th?

We won't be getting in until late on the 7th because we are trying to limit the time off for my son's school.

My daughter is also in the 176 and she's one of the section leaders.  We are so proud of her.

I'm not that great with message boards but I'm going to try and be on this at least once a day.  So let me know what you think I can do to help out.

I wonder if some of the parents feel a little like I do - nervous to share\get to know each other because of all the security warnings.  I should have known better but when I first signed up I used my last name and now I feel like I don't want to share too much because I might do something like that again.

I can certainly understand the time constraints with your younger child, it is a bit of an ordeal to get everyone off and flown into town on a Thursday!  Our youngest is in college and her finals are that week. There was no way to work around it (we tried) and so she will miss PIR. It's a big disappointment for us :(

With regards to privacy and security, we just have to be mindful of the potential for anyone to get a hold of info.  My recommendation is to try and use no names at all, then you don't have to think about that!  LOL.  For instance, my son, I'll only be calling him 'the kid'.

The basket you asked about, yes, it's for the meet and greet. And all that kinda stuff is just extra fluff- no stress, no requirements, just for fun. I hope you will hang out with us up here - it's nice to have the support system.  It's nice to hear from the others what our kiddos are doing, too!!

Have a great day today!
