Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 369 & 370.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

No calls, no letters, not even a form letter yet.

I just got a letter from my son and he hasn't mentioned anything about getting calls.  He was funny saying how he saw geese flying in the sky and thought they might be going to California.  So it must be cold for him there and he's pretty impervious to cold weather.  I sure hope I get a call from him this week if that is the case.

I received a call from my son today - 3:30 Arizona time.  He sounded great.  He said the division is really coming together.  Their superiors seem to be nicer than other divisions.  He sounded very happy for someone in boot camp.

That's great, what part of Arizona are you from?  I am from Tucson, looking forward to PIR, the weather will be a huge change compared to what I'm used too :)  I didn't get a call yesterday, so hoping my son calls today.

TUSmom, I am from Gilbert.  Yes, the weather will be a huge change (I am a native of NJ and I'm used to the weather - the reason why I moved to AZ) One suggestion for you - dress in layers!  Have you received a call yet?

I have a cousin in Gilbert, I will definitly be taking your advice and dressing in layers.  Still no phone call from my son :(  hoping I get one this week.  According to one of the other Mom's she said there were 30 of them getting their wisdom teeth pulled and couldn't make there calls.  I am thinking my son may have been one of them since he has all of his wisdom teeth still.

My son has told me in his letters and during the calls that it is cold there - reminded him of New Jersey (where he's from).  So yes, it's cold there in Chicago now.

Did anyone get a call from div 369 today?

No, I did not get a call from my SR and he told me in his letter that he was going to call me on 9/30. Hopefully I will hear from him soon!

Received two letters today: one for my husband and I, one for SR's sister. He didn't mention phone calls and we haven't received one. He might have called his girlfriend though because in both of our letters he mentioned he had not received a letter from her as of Sunday. I would love to get a call, but I'm ok without one too. The letters he has written are so much more than I could have ever dreamed they would be and I like the fact I can re-read them. I'd probably forget half of what he said before I got off the phone with him.

For all of you Texas folks on here, my SR says the food is actually pretty good, but "when the food they have is called 'Texas Style' or 'Southern Style' its nowhere as good as it would be in Texas."

Found out the girlfriend did receive a call yesterday evening. That's ok. It is their 1 yr anniversary today. He made the right call.

Received a call from my son last night.  So good to hear his voice.  Said he mails out letters on Sundays and will only have one more chance to call home before BC is over.  Don't know where he's headed yet for A school.
