Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 369 & 370.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Yes! I think I read it somewhere.  Because my son will attend A school in Connecticut, he will fly out the next day (Saturday).  We only have a few hours to spend with them.  So, PIR is on the 9th, he is leaving on the 10th.  I forget exactly what time he will need to report back to the base, but we only get a few hours with them, unfortunately.  However, I heard that because Monday is a federal holiday they might be on liberty longer, however don't bank on it. Now from what I understand, because Monday is a federal holiday, if they attend A school in the Great Lakes area they will be on Liberty longer (so not fair).

Got a letter from my son today. Said he had wisdom teeth pulled the day before he wrote but the letter is not dated. He did confess to calling his girlfriend last week instead of us. He was worried because he hadn't received a letter from her. Silly teenage girl needs more time in the day (high school senior, cheerleader, underclassman sponsor, yearbook) to complete everything.

Beamer835- he also mentioned not much time after PIR. Possibly only the afternoon. Might be flying out late that night or early next morning. I have read several times on here that they really won't know anything for sure until right before PIR. I think they are just preparing us for a short visit. No time for a grand tour of Chicago.

ok..im finally here...just now getting around to figuring this page out although i joined several wks ago..looks like i have 9 pages to catch up on here with the Div so after i get a chance to catch up ill have something to input..lol but just to get started, my SR Jones.. is my 23yrold son Joshua .  Gonna go read some and ill be back :)

I finally got a call from my SR today.  He was one of the ones that got his wisdom teeth pulled and wasn't able to call.  If your son got his teeth pulled in this division, you will probably get a call today :-)  He sounded so great, said he has so much to tell me and can't wait to see me.  Glad to hear his voice since it had been since September 12th.

yes, did got my call from my SR today too, said they do have lots of flags, they did good on the inspections, trying to still digest what we talked about..he said one more Physical test to do, this is week5/2days, If anyone going to pensacola looks like they will be leaving late sunday, so he is happy to spend more time with us as we are leaving late sunday too.

My SR is heading to Pensacola too but he didn't say anything about shipping out late Sunday. I hope this is true. We are staying until Monday afternoon. It would be great to get that much time with him.

I posted this on the PIR group but thought I'd add it here for the division too:

"Happy Mom here!  Just got a call from my SR. Also the first call we've received since the 1 minute "I'm here" call.

He sounded good except he called his gf first and she told him the long distance thing wasn't going to work out. He had that figured out since he has only received one letter from her since he got to BC. Can't hold it against her since she is only 17 and still in high school.

He said the division is doing great and earned lots of flags last week in addition to the phone call. And he has made several good friends while there that are also headed to Pensacola."

Atxmom: yes, my son have to make sure i understood about him leaving late sunday, and wants to know when are we going back home, he seems glad from his voice that he can spend sometime with us. Hope he is one of your SR's friend as he can be a good listener.

I missed my call from my son for the 2nd time.  I feel so bummed.  I've had the phone with me most of the time and the one time he calls, it's not on me.  It was wonderful hearing his voice in the voice mail.  I miss him so much.

My son's going to be into Damage Control A school in Chicago.  Anybody else have their recruit going to the same school?

jcluvbugs: My son is DC also and staying in Great Lakes, I asked him about his liberty and he said they get all weekend to spend with family :)

That's what I heard too.  I'm so happy to be spending the weekend with him. :) :)
