I was trying to think of something to get my SR for graduation. Someone suggested Navy coins. Here is something about that. I will also post another link.

Anyone unfamiliar with coins can visit this group: http://www.navyformoms.com/group/challengecoins

There isn't a Basic Training coin that can be engraved. There is a nice RTC coin,https://store.nwtmint.com/product_details/1981/Recruit_Training_Com... , but there is no blank space on it at all.

There are generic Navy coins and Rate (rank) coins, all pay grades E-2 and up, with blank backs.

I thought this looked like a good idea! Please share if any of you have come up with any other ideas for graduation! :) Thanks! Kathy

Hello,

I'm new to this site and really glad I found it.  Great information.

My SR is Corey and we're from Florida.  Can't wait to hear his voice again and see his face.  I think I'm going to grab him and never let go.  My husband and I are flying up for PIR but we're taking a mini vacation too - we're flying in on Wednesday and leaving on Sunday.  My SR is flying out on Saturday (according to his last letter) to Charleston, SC for "A" school - he's in the Nuke program.  We're actually staying down in Chicago but will probably go to the Meet & Greet at Sarge's Thursday night.  I'm so excited!! I hope to get to meet some of you and thanks again for all the great information.

My son also is in the nuke program. My SR also said he would be leaving early in the morning on Saturday. My son is John we are from Chesapeake, VA

I hope to see you at PIR - We'll need to stay in touch during this whole Nuke school process.  From what we've heard it's very challenging.  My husband & I lived in Chesapeake, VA for 2 years when he was stationed in Norfolk and we're both from Lynchburg, VA.

Hi Coreysmom, glad to have you aboard.
Kathy, once again thanks so much for all of the information yesterday!
Patty

Welcome Corey's mom! It's nice to meet you and glad you found our group!

Patty, you're welcome for the info! Glad I could help. I'm just getting so excited I had to round up information and start getting all my ducks in a row! Only 12 more days!

See you all soon!

Kathy

I printed my pass today too!!! It's getting closer and I can't believe I'll get to wrap my arms around my SR in only 9 more days!!!

Hey everybody!!! I got the "I'm a Sailor Call" !!!!!! Hallelujia!!!!   I was so nervous after the news I heard yesterday that my SR might not do Battlestations, but everything is taken care of; he did it with his division; he got his Navy cap this morning and it is on for PIR 5/18/12! Yea!!! Hope you all are getting your phone calls!

whooo hooooo! Got my call today also! Have been waiting for the call. Came while I was at work but didn't cared talked to him for 40 minutes! Can't wait till next Friday to see him. He sounded so different today! He said they haven't slept yet and they had been up since 6am yesterday! But they are done! He made me laugh so hard, said normally he gets a piece of fruit for desert but today he had cookies and they were so goooooodd!!! He did say the RDC's were on this site hehehehe.

Congratulations to all the new Sailors and their proud parents! :)
