Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What things do I need to bring to my SR for use after PIR?
Some ideas from the 'vet Moms:" Tennis shoes, cell phones/ ipods (and their chargers), boxers, socks, compression shorts and Superfeet, a couple of sets of workout clothes, one set of "civies" for Phase II liberty, sunglasses, watch, favorite "comfort" food (cookies, brownies for example)
What are "Superfeet?"
- Superfeet is a brand of insoles for boots or sneakers. They absorb some of the impact. They are very popular and cost about $30(ish).

I know the feeling, it's the first realization that Uncle Sam is in charge now. I keep focusing on the fact that this is what he wanted to do, he's following his dream not mine. Washing those clothes was emotional............my favorite load of laundry ever!

I am not washing zachs. I left them in the box and put them in his room on his bed. I go and smell them everyday. I did take his watch out and put it in my purse so i will have a piece of him everyday.

Hang in there teeny; it's one step closer to you and think how absolutely thrilled you're going to be when you get it!! I thought the US Mail had reverted to "Pony Express" myself so I understand about painfully slow mail. :)

Hello Ladies,
My son is also in DIV 813. I received my letter yesterday and was so excited. What a relief to know he is doing well! It felt like somone had thrown me a life raft.

Hi All!!!
I got my letter yesterday with my sons info ship 04 div 813. So happy to be able to talk to someone whos son is with mine. It sounds like some of you got a letter along with the form letter. I did not. Still waiting to hear from him. He did however send a letter in his box. I gave him paper so he could write to us while he was on the plane. I am dying to hear how he feels about BC. I have written him a letter everyday and I sent them all out today. I tried not to cry as a put them in the mailbox but I could not help myself. Yesterday was the first day that I did not cry I was thought the tears were finially stopping but I guess I was wrong.

Hmm. I thought I had posted this already. I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a veteran mom who is here to help out with any questions and support that you may need. My son's PIR was in October 2010 with a Spec Ops contract. As you will find out, being in a 800 division is different than the other divisions. I hope I can help make this journey a little easier for you.

A friend of mine has a son who graduated in December.He was not in an 800 division. If I understood correctly, pictures were posted on this web site of their division on occasion throughout boot camp. I was curious if our sons might get pictures posted or if because of the nature of their future their division would not be included in the posted pictures.??
