Welcome to the discussion group for division 823.
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the Main wWll as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

America, are you sure this is his division? Usually 800's are SpecOps and I don't believe IT is SpecOps. My son signed his original contract for IT but only because he hadn't completed his PST test yet to sign for rescue swimmer. Anyway, I talked to my son last night because his best friend (ship13, Div 366) is going in as an MM and I didn't know where he would be going to A school. My son said they might not know until they get their orders about a week before graduation.
IT is his rate. Any SO job will be in addition to the primary rate. You can go in as anything and still get a SO contract if you meet all the qualifications.
Sundown, just to let you know, the SpecOps train much harder than the regular divisions and if someone does anything wrong they get intense training (IT) because of it. The first Sunday when the other divisions were writing letters, my son's division was moving things because someone did something wrong so they didn't get to write. The upside of all of that was that their division went on to win Hall of Fame (the ultimate flag to get) and were able to make longer calls than some of the other divisions. I think my son called home every other day the week after battlestations. What did your son sign his contract for?
My son was my youngest also just out of high school. Now I have an empty nest and that is sometimes very hard to handle. I was on this site constantly when he was in bc. I'm on here now for his best friend who has lived with us for the past year but been part of the family since second grade. The moms in my son's division were very active on this site. I don't know if the moms are heading over to Facebook or just not on here but it just seems quiet on here. I'm not familiar with apprentice seaman but most of the time 800 divisions are SEALS, Rescue Swimmers, EOD's , SWCKK and Divers which makes their training very intense to prepare them for all the SpecOps requirements. Navy moms is the best place to come when you are feeling depressed about not hearing from your sons as we all know how you feel and what you are going through. It is hard when others are getting calls and letters but yours will come, learn to rejoice when others get a phone call or letter it helps. No news is definitely good news. Hang in there it does get better.
Ladies, be careful if your son is in spec ops when joining the FB groups. I think it gives too much information about yourself, especially last names and other personal stuff. Just my opinion.
I will second that of sjtina, sometimes the RDc's are on this site and Facebook looking at guys whose moms are sharing way too much info and then the guys catch heck for it.
Aneitra 800 divisions are specifically for spec ops. They keep them together because it involves swimming. The other divisions as far as I know do not use the pool. They also train more intensely than other divisions. There are a few other differences, but mostly its all about the training. Spec ops could mean rescue swimmer. SWCC, SEAL, Divers , or EOD. I'll post a schedule so you can see approx what their day is like. Which job will your BF be training for after BC.
