Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 804

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

I know..............I kept seeing more and more divisions reporting phone calls, and we were sitting by our phones tonight hoping we would get calls too. Seems like some of the divisions have called home 3 times. We are traveling tomorrow, and I'm not sure of the reception through some of the areas we have to go through. That probably means it will be tomorrow, LOL! It does seem like the calls come in the evening though. When I talked to my son Tuesday night he did say he thought all their division would get calls this week, so hang in there! I would think all of us will get a call at some point this week.Fingers crossed for all of us!!

804 is calling! 804 is calling!

He sounded great! Just bored lol. Said they don't work out as much as he would like, only once a day, not twice, because they are a push division. Also there is a LOT of hurry up and wait, lol. Said the guys in his division are a great group of guys and he has become close to several. He told me, in order to keep their room clean and spend less time cleaning, they all use only a handful of showers and toilets (no urinals....they're too hard to clean, lol). He also said if a career in the Navy doesn't work out he could definitely get a job at Kohls cause he has mad ironing/folding skills now. Lol. Crazy kid. So good to hear his voice!

Apparently their call time is limited tonight because they took a few "hits" (I guess during inspection or something? Was kind of hard to hear him at times) but that they would be allowed 1 hour for calls tomorrow.

He also confirmed what I had been hearing; 804 will have to wait a week for 805 to join them for A school. If not enough recruits make it through by Jan 30th, they will have to wait some more for the 806! Apparently quite a few guys in the 804 have left, due to medical or performance problems. Many have left the Navy completely (they are given the option to drop out or join the regular sailor program). He has no idea if they will have liberty/leave while waiting for more to join the group. I guess we will find that out at a later time.

Hope you all hear from your sailors too!

804 is calling! So good to hear from him!!

Hello 804!  So glad we got to hear from our SR's tonight and hoping for more tomorrow!  It sounds like most of you received great, upbeat calls!  So happy for you, but I can't say mine was as encouraging, UGH.  My SR is recovering from having his wisdom teeth removed this week, has a terrible head cold and somehow managed to hurt his knee.  He can't figure out what he did - he just knows it hurts.  If anything else was hurting it wouldn't be a big deal as his PT times are excellent and he could get through it, but his weakness is by far his run and he can't afford to lose any time on it.  Needless to say it's really concerning him and he hopes it somehow settles before the next PST.  He said it's actually a pretty big deal..  he can't fail the run without serious consequences.  Praying the Lord will give him strength.

804 is getting calls again now. Though their time got cut again :(

I've been watching how everyone have gotten letters from their SR's, and started getting phone calls last night, while I was excited for all of you, at the same time, I was heartbroken, because I hadn't heard a peep from mine. His father received a letter, but I had nothing... Until now!!! He called me!! He asked if I'd gotten his letter he wrote last week. I told him I didn't, and that we've been having problems with our mail carrier not giving out the right mail (GRRRRR!!!)
He tells me, he's bored (??). He says he's met a lot of good guys and is doing well with testing.
He didn't get a chance to call last night, and today, they were supposed to have 60 min., but it's been cut to 35 :(
He also said there have been quite a few who have left the division, and there are those who are sick :( He just got over being sick, but he's hanging in there!!
It was just so nice to hear my baby's voice!!

SMIPA my SR had not rec'd some of the letters/cards I sent either, and I just got a short letter from him today. He said they don't have a lot of time to write. I spoke to him for a short time last night and he also told me they have lost a lot of guys, and will probably lose several more before graduation. I was expecting a call today, since he said they would have 60 mins for calls today, but once again they lost time so no call for me today :(  So much more I wanted to talk to him about today, very disappointed there time was cut.

This is a real emotional roller coaster. So happy after last night's call, so blue after today's disappointment.

Awww!! Sorry Wendy2110! I'm glad that you did get to hear from him though!
I was thinking the worst with mine, I thought, why would you write your dad, but not your mom? Then I thought he probably called him last night, and not me...it was AWFUL!! When he asked if I got his letter, then said he was unable to make calls last night, I was relieved (I'm the worst scenario thinker)!
Our call was short, because he had to call others, with the 35 min. they allotted time for, but it was nice to hear from him.
He received the Christmas card I sent, but said they weren't allowed to have Visa gift cards (I suppose it depends on the RDC who can have what).
I agree, this has been the most emotional roller coaster I've ever been on!
Maybe they cut our SR'S time today, so they can use the other half tomorrow??? Mayyybeee????
Hang in there, we got this! ;)
Facebook site US NRTC has added 612 pics of our SRs!! Found a few with mine in them!! What a thoughtful thing for them to do!!

I'm jealous, SMIPA!  My husband and I put them all up on the bigscreen, hoping we could find one with my son, but NOTHING!  And you found a few of your SR from 804?  Bummer.  I was hoping for just one!  Were yours scattered about, or in a certain group of pics?

MommaBear, the pics were of him eating in the mess hall. They didn't take any SR pics of Ship 04, because they're not in an active division. Try looking at the mess hall pics, or classroom pics. It was nice of them to do that, for the families!!

Thanks, SMIPA.  I looked through every single photo and searched the faces in the mess hall pics too.  Do you know what numbers of photos (of the 614) your SR was in?  Maybe then I could go back to those and see if I missed my kiddo.  ??
