Aren't these just the longest days in your life?  I'm now a mailbox junkie, hangin' out by the box all the time just waiting for that letter!

Does anyone have a son or daughter Ship 6, Div 945?  Being a performance division, I'd love to hear what you know about the workload and their (few) extra privileges.

        Thank you all!

Hi Whaletalkers, I receive a letter Thursday from my daughter and she said they got 1 hit, which was not bad some groups got 60!
Wow Hmac!! That is good!! They should all be proud of themselves!! Thanks for letting me know!!
Hi, I was wondering if any other moms have heard that the Div. has had to do a lot of extra PT because of SR's talking to much?
No I havent. I have heard some recruits have had musical cards and candy sent to them.
Whaletalkers, thanks for the info on the parade. Looks like it's a very big deal and a long-standing tradition. I'm so glad the Div is getting the chance to perform in public. This will be their first time "out" in uniform and I hear the thank yous and hand shaking from the public are very meaningful to SRs. A good shot in the arm for their morale!
That's interesting what you say about the Presidential Honor Guard candidates coming from the 900 Divisions.
We've only received one phone call so far. How's everyone else doing with phone calls?
Patricia,
Your welcome. I agree it will be good for their morale! I have only received one phone call also 2 weeks ago. My SR had two wisdom teeth pulled. He said the Ibupro. was nice they give them for the teeth, helps with the sore muscles too. LOL
I know what you mean about the the 'Presidential Honor Guard', I didnt know that either until my Sailor told me last monday when he called. (which is nice now that he has Skypes!!) You know how it is with getting information from your kids.... How the mirror REALLY got broke.... What they use to do when you werent home......How many times they locked their little brother in the closet... LOL You know... the boring stuff. My Sailor son laughs and tells me "its a need to know basis Mom, if I told you I would have to kill you!" then he winks and chuckles LOL
I was wondering if Div 945 had been in any other PIR's or Parades, but you say its their first time out so that answers that for me-Thank you. I was combing the last PIR photo's but I think DIV 943 was performing there.
Ha ha! You crack me up Whaletalkers! How the mirror 'really' got broke. So true, so true!
@Patricia, This last Christmas was quite interesting. A lot of 'Truthful' stories were finally told. LOL Now I know why a few things just 'disappeared' into thin air. LOL I loved EVERY story too!! LOL
My favorite "mirror" story was when my 1 year old daughter's bangs mysteriously were trimmed quite short. When I asked her older brother what happened to her hair, he told me Casper the Friendly Ghost cut it!
Has anyone heard when BS21 will be for Div 945? Any word on pix from today's parade?
Hope you all have had a blessed Labor Day weekend!!
@Patricia, Love the hair thing. LOL

Havent heard about pictures from todays parade. I am watching WGN News on Comcast tonight. Its a chicago station but it plays here in TN on cable. I am going to look. None will probably get posted in the newspapers until tomorrow. As for the BS they all will be the last week they are there. My 1st Sailors started on Wednesday and ended on Thursday. We were already sitting in the hotel in chicago when we got "I'm a Sailor!" call and next breath When are you leaving for Here? LOL "Honey we are right up the road 5 minutes from you." LOL So we were traveling when they were doing their BS.
Week 6:
During this week you’ll get your division photos taken. You can buy these photos and Year
Books at Graduation. There will also be more drill, and more physical training. For classroom
training you will receive basic training on damage control and fire fighting.
The Gas Chamber is also this week. In the gas chamber, you will have 30 seconds to don your
gas mask while the Petty Officer is lighting the tear gas tablet. When directed, a Petty Officer
will instruct you to take off your mask, remove the filter cartridge and throw it in a trashcan,
while stating your full name and social security number.
You will visit the M-16 firing range this week as well. You don’t get to use real bullets…yet.
The indoor range consists of a computerized laser firing system. Even though you won’t get real
bullets for the M-16, once you’ve shown that you can handle a weapon properly, you will get to
the Navy’s "new" live-fire range. Here you will receive one hour of classroom training on firing
a 9mm pistol, followed by an hour of live-fire.
Finally, you get to go through the Confidence Course.
