Looking for other moms whose SR is in Ship 07 Division 080. Where are ya?

Hello Ladies, my son is ship 07 div 080, going into the nuke program, so glad I got his letter and was able to mail him some.  took the advice given on another page and mailed him address labels, stamps and a calling card.  Can't wait for PIR.

Address labels will really come in handy!! It gives them more time to write! :)

No worries! If you didn't already send a calling card with your SR sending one might be of some help when he needs to make calls home and what not. They're able to buy stamps at the NEX but if you want to do your part in guaranteeing as many letters home as possible I suggest sending some stamps just in case he runs out. :) And I believe the meet and greet is an event the night before PIR where loved ones can get together and meet as well as meet the Sarge.

Sorry Johanna & gavinsmom--I tried responding on my phone last night because I haven't had a chance to get on much on the computer. Well, it wouldn't post my reply!!:/  Yes, the meet & greet is Thursday before PIR and I hear Sarge gives you a lot of information as well as you get to meet some of the moms that are here going thru this at the same time:) Would love to get to meet my support group!:)

As far as stamps and calling card, I would still send it. If they don't have it it just may be a little harder for them. I even made up some labels like someone suggested because when they said that I thought, you know, it probably takes him ten minutes to write out the envelope as neat as he has to be! lol Anything to encourage sending a letter I will try to help with!! lol

johanna--my son is going to be in the nuke program as well and headed to Charleston after PIR. Maybe they are friends and will know each other:)

I want to ask you all to pray with me that my husband (He's a paint contractor) 1) God will heal his back because he is down in his back. 2) that he will get a big job so we can afford to go to PIR! I will do anything in my power to get us there because that is something I DON"T WANT TO MISS!! Thank you so much.

I'll be praying for you and your husband Leslie!! We all would like to see you at PIR!! :)

Thank you for your prayers! I found an extra $500 that I had put back sometime ago and forgot about it! I believe the Lord put it back for just this time!:) God is so good!:) He always takes care of us!

I will definitely join you in that prayer.  My son is in this division as well and I am just leaning how to navigate this site. :)  I am a strong prayer warrior and would be honored to join with you in prayer as I understand the importance of being there on that day.  I am currently unemployed and am praying that all comes together in time for myself as well.  God surely will provide. :)

Thank you Viola:) I will be there one way or the other! I will sell whatever I have to so I can be there! I can't miss this!:)

looking at plane tickets and hotels today....any advice on where to stay?

We made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express in Waukegan. My husband has a travel card that we were able to get a discount with. They are always pretty nice. I just booked our rental car thru hotwire. Now just the flight!:)

Hello everyone! How is everyone doing? Has everyone received their form letter by now? I sure hope so! I have been sending a letter every day since I received mine.  I don't know if he will write me but I sure hope he does!:) The last couple of days for some reason has been hard for me. I was doing pretty good after getting his form letter and all of the sudden it started getting me again yesterday:/ Today hasn't been as bad as yesterday but still has bothered me some. I just don't like being emotional about it! I feel like it is stupid of me to be so emotional about it because I know he's ok! I am looking forward to seeing him on 3/2!! Hope you all are doing good. Hope to get to meet you while we are all there. We are planning to go to probably Sarge's meet and greet. I don't know if we will go to both or not.

When are yall planning to make the flight into Chicago? I am wondering if there will really be that much issues with bad weather in March? When are yall planning to head out? I am trying to figure out if I should come in Thursday & leave late Saturday. That is what my husband wants to do anyway. I would prefer to stay til Sunday if he ends up flying out of Midway instead of O'hare, because we will be coming into and leaving from O'hare.

Hi Leslie!! Sorry to hear the last couple days have been hard on you, but hang in there!! March 2nd isn't too far away..only a little more than a month!! Soon enough we'll all be getting the "I'm a Sailor" call and all the waiting will be worth it!! :) I've already bought my ticket and I'm leaving bright and early Thursday morning then coming back Sunday, just in case my SR doesn't leave til later. My flights are both to midway because that's the only airport southwest offers, and it allows me to change my flight based on my schedule, which is good in case of last minute changes. I want to attend one of the meet and greets, just not sure the difference between the two and I'm trying to look into it more. Hope you're feeling better today!! Remember we're all right there with you when it comes to the roller coaster of emotions!! :)

Take care,

Viola
