OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I got a call from Garret last night around 5:30! It was like heaven hearing his voice. He sounded so much older, and really tired. He said that Division 077 has the best RDC and the toughest, so they are the most strict. I asked him about Sarah and he said 'yeah I think I know who that is, she is having a hard time". I told him I had made friends with you. He said a lot of the girls are having a hard time because this division is strict, strict, strict. He said he got an hour of sleep last night and had to earn his call to me. But he also said they have a mandatory call home on Tuesday that can last for up to an hour! He said to be by the phone between 1400 and 1600. :)

Should I make sure that I am home on Tuesday afternoon then? I wll have to leave work early, since I work 30 minutes away from home. Thanks Kay Kay for all of the information. I really appreciate it.

I am not really sure if he gets that call since he was promoted to ship staff or if they all get that call. To be on the safe side, though, I would keep your phone by you all day tomorrow. She didn't say anything about getting another call Tuesday? On Sundays I forward my home calls to my cell in case he calls. You could do that or you could leave work early (that's always nice lol) and hope for the best. He said it would be an hour long call. I am HOPING this actually happens and isn't something they will take away, you know? I guess we will know by tomorrow.

Sarah talked to my husband longer than me, so I just checked with him, and he said that she will be calling sometime tomorrow. Not sure what time. I will keep my cell phone by me at all times.She may only get to talk to me, since John will be at work, and Lindsay will be at school until at least 3:30. I am torn about leaving work early. I could just talk to her here, but then, what if she calls at 4pm, and could talk to her sister-see if I am home, then Lindsay would get to talk to her as well. Not sure what to do

Honestly, if you can get away with it, I would leave work early. I am able to do that as well and would do that. Garret told me he would be calling between 1400 and 1600 hours so that's between 2 and 4. My plan is to sit here by the phone ALL day just in case it is earlier or later than that. And I would knock your husband upside the head for not telling you she said she was going to call! lol!

Ladies... just a thought... something I did when my daughter called home I 3 wayed my husband in on the call. Since I don't work and am at home it was pre-determined that if could call she would call my phone. When she did I remembered "hey I can 3way." my husband was so happy and excited, he just figured he would miss that call....so if you don't know how to do it, try to figure it out on your phone before your recruit calls and surprise, they get both of you! Just a thought.... oh my I am so excited for you ladies! :)

Thanks. I am so excited. I just want to at home so that Sarah can talk to my youngest daughter. If she will actually get an hour, then I want to share the phone with my husband too. Lindsay wont get home until after 3pm, and John wont get home until 3:30. Now this will work if she gets to call after 3pm. I can only wait and see

We received our phone call around 4pm. Thank goodness I had left work at 3pm and got home in time for Sarah to be able to speak with her sister. She was kind of crying (I think overtired and stressed) and she is worried because she is scared she wont make weight. She claims she has put some on since she has been there, and I reminded her that she has probably put on muscle from all of the work they have been doing. I just encouraged her. She also mentioned that she was not able to mail out any letters on Sunday, so we will not get mail this week. I am not sure what happened there. She begged us to all keep writing, and I said of course we will. I hope that you received your call too. Ours was for about 30 minutes. So good to hear from her. Have a good night!

I also received my call around 4. We talked for a little under half an hour. We were both bummed because we thought we would have an hour. Not so. But every minute and second was appreciated. He said he has been doing some soul searching and is thinking about going for officers training. He sounded less tired, more upbeat and so grown up. He said it is not as physically demanding anymore as it is mentally demanding. Garret also said he was unable to mail out letters on Sunday, I wonder why. I again asked him about Sarah and he said he wouldn't know unless he knew her last name. He also begged for letters and cards. Going to bombard him with them!

I got up this morning and wrote Sarah another letter. I also printed some old pictures off of the computer and sent them to her. Anything to brighten her day. One of the girls on here, Jackiequeen, wanted to know if we want to establish a scarf color to represent our division. Let me know what you think. I think some of the other divisions are going to wear their scarfs to graduation. I would have to go buy one. I dont mind. I could always use a new scarf. Good excuse to go shopping. I do plan to buy a nice garment bag for Sarah to put her Navy uniform ins. You may want to get Garret one as well. Have a great day
