Okay, I know for a fact that there are approximately 84 members of this division who have loved ones at home missing them.  We are now almost at the half way mark, and yet we are not a very active group on this website.  I don't understand it.  I know from the few people that I have talked to, that there are some anxious moms, wives and girlfriends out there, and I can't help but think that there has to be many more who are just wondering what to do or who to talk to.  So, allow me to say this......

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!  Make yourself known!  Don't be shy, we are all the same boat.  We miss our loved ones just like you!  I am online almost every day, and I wouldn't care a bit to become friends with anyone who wants to chat, become penpals, or just maybe need some help with info.  Send me a note if want to.  I didn't even see a post on here recently, so I thought I would post this one to see if maybe there was any new members that might have just joined recently.

I know that my son is one of six Section Leaders, so I know that he is getting to know youryour son very well.  I hope to see you all at Sarges, the night before graduation, in a little over 4 weeks.  Hope to hear from some of you!

I'm all for whatever the group decides.  I like purple & white with an anchor if the cost is reasonable.  I got 2 letters and a phone call!!!  My first letter took forever and the second letter came the next day and only took 2 days, so go figure! LOL  Then I got my phone call and of course I was thrilled!!!!  :)  Life is good!  Patrick said that the division earned their first flag already which is also good news. So far, so good.  We certainly have a quiet group of moms/girlfriends/wifes, etc.

Just got off the phone with our SR.  BEAMING!!!  Feet not on the ground.

bump

Everyone must be so happy to have heard directly from their SR and not need any support.  I hope all of you in the midwest are fairing well in the storms.

Because our group is small or practically non existant, I am going to order the purple ribbons for my family for graduation. I do not want to offend anyone and I hope I dont by ordering the purple one. I am also going to order a scarf. Please feel free to order to purple ribbon or the color of your choice. Excited that we have 3 weeks left until we see our sailors. I received my call as well and was very excited to hear his voice. I hope to meet alot of the parents at the meet and greet on the 29th.

I'll see you there!  I look forward to meeting everyone at Sarge's Meet & Greet.  Hopefully, we'll meet lots of the other parents and loved ones who maybe didn't find this site, although I don't know how they will know about the meet & greet unless someone tells them. lol  I say, go for it on the scarf and ribbons.  I told you what I'm doing.  We can't wait until the last minute for heaven sake!  I've never been one to wait until the last minute, that's for sure. :)

I dont wait until the last minute either, thats why I am ordering the ribbons now!! What do we wear to graduation? I figured you would know because you have been through this before! I hope the next three weeks go by quickly!!

Wear what you want.  When my parents came to my bootcamp graduation in November of 1980, it was in bootcamp in Orlando, FL so mom wore pants and a dress shirt, and heck, Grandma wore casual pants and a casual shirt, and I can't remember what dad wore.  My boyfriend at the time wore his military uniform. LOL  When we went to my middle sons graduation at the Air Force Basic Training which was in Texas, it was over 100 degrees and I wore a cotton pant suit that was quite casual and short sleeve.  I was overdressed and shocked!  I was the only parent other than one dressed that "nice".  Most had shorts on.  The one parent that I mentioned, had a sun dress on and her husband had on shorts and flip flops.  So, I guess I would say, wear what you are comfortable in.  I haven't decided yet because it will depend on the weather.  It is still winter there.  It will definitely be pants, but whether it is a sweater or blazer, or whatever, I haven't decided.  I know some moms are wearing sweatshirts and jeans.  I think what's important is being there and being comfortable because you will be there for several hours.  Comfortable shoes are a must. LOL

What is the Sarge's Meet and Greet? I'm completely clueless about all of this. haha I'm so excited to go though. Thank you for any help you can give.

Morgan, there are many, 3 I think, meet and greets the night before graduation. I am going to Sarges meet and greet, there is a link on this page. This is headed by a retired service man and I have read previous posts that people really enjoyed this man and this meet. Welcomne to the group.

What is the ribbon about .

Did someone contact you to explain the ribbons?  If not, let me know and I will explain them. I sent you a message privately.
