For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Congrats to everyone on the phone calls and the letters it's great to hear the excitement! Remember there's still 4 weeks left and soon its going to get a little bit harder due to more inspections, weapons training, and fire fighting so continue to write your SR's. HOO-YAH 016!

I have to leave town early tomorrow because my dad is really ill. I am so bummed that I am going to miss my letter this week. I got my letter last Thursday and I have to leave early in the morning and I don't know when I can come home. I don't know when I should tell my son about his grandpa. Dad will be having brain surgery soon. I was thinking I should tell my son about it when we know when the surgery will be and let him talk to his grandpa just in case. It's just so hard to know what to do. I don't want to rob him of the chance to talk to him before just in case things don't go well. It's really hard to know. I don't know how long it will take for the red cross to get to my son to have that call. I don't to mess my son up, I just don't want to take something away that you can't give back.

So sorry to hear about your dad. Sending prayers your way. And I'm sure if it comes down to an emergency type situation they will get a hold of your son quickly.

Debbie...I just went through the RedCross to get my son down here when my dad had his stroke. It took about 36 hours for the message to get to the boat & his leave to be approved by his captain. You will need to call the red cross yourself, I found out the hard way by trying to get the hospital to do it for me, & they will tell you all the information you need. The RedCross can send the message, but it is up to RTC to approve the call or not.

4 weeks from today our loved ones will be graduating! I just ordered my ribbons for PIR from Lora http://www.navyformoms.com/profile/Lala
I cannot wait to get them! I also just ordered my daughters dress. I saw the pictures of todays PIR on FB and that moment when the door to the hangar opens and the recruits all come marching in....wow! The anticipation of that moment is going to be awesome!
Cannot wait to meet you all! Deb you and your fam are still in my prayers.

Thanks for the prayers and info. I will know more on Monday. Hopefully nothing goes wrong before then. When I know more I will call the Red Cross so I can talk to .y son and let him know what's going on. He sounded so good and he is doing sp well.
