Welcome CB! We're all waiting for that first big letter!

I had expected the form with the little note on it on a Friday, and my hubby had checked the mail and said it didn't come. I was so disappointed, but it came in Saturday morning's mail. It wasn't till Monday that we realized we were one day behind on the stuff in the mailbox. The hubster had checked the mail too early Friday, and it actually had been there on Friday afternoon. It was the biggest relief to get that form! Just to know what ship/division he was in, and that he was fine.

Its Wednesday and I just received 2 letters!  His sister called and said she got one so I flew to the mailbox and wasn't disappointed!  He sounds happy, likes it, and says his division is like the bad news bears, but quickly adds..."we'll get it".  He says he likes marching outside in the cool crisp air.  The food is "badass"  which I think means good:) Help me if you know this for sure.  He was yeoman , then he wasn't, now he is again. What??  I'm a happy Mom!  Hope you all find a delivery too.

My granddaughter is on ship 9 div 043 we haven't received a letter yet. She sent her box and address so we have been writing letters like mad. Is your son in this same group 09-043? We haven"t made any reservations yet....we wanted to hear from her first. Making sure she is doing okay before we jump the gun.

Yes he is in 09/043.  i know what you mean about those reservations.  We made ours before we heard from him but sounds like we will be ok.

My oldest daughter sent a text that she got a letter from DJ.  I called and she read it to me.  He said he was disappointed that they don't PT every day, and everyone is short on sleep, but things are going well.  He said it was amazing to him that 3 weeks had already gone passed.  Mail delivery takes a lot longer here, and she is 1100 miles closer to him than we are, so hopefully later this week!  Start lurking the mail boxes mommas!

Great. Sure glad the time is flying for them...sure isn't for us. Hope we hear something soon. Thanks

My daughter is there too!  I received the box and the form letter and am anxiously awaiting the next letter.  Though I keep watching the airfares, I hesitate to make reservations.  Can't quite afford the refundable fares.  Am glad that this group is here for us!

Southwest doesn't charge any change fees so we didn't get the "refundable" tickets.  If we have to change the flight, they will only charge the difference between the old and new flights.

I'm praying we all get letters today!  I could really use one about now!

You're telling me! I keep waiting to hear the mail lady's truck pull up. At least I will know within the hour if his letter is coming today....or if I have to keep my fingers crossed for another 24 hours!

Yahoo and Hallelujah! Just got a letter from my son. He made me laugh, instead of crying like I expected. Love that kid. And he mentioned that this was his second letter, so I guess I get his first one tomorrow!

The most important thing is that he sounds content. Except he really wants a long soak in a hot tub - alone!

Yahoo!!!  That's the impression we got, content, all is well.  :)  Now here's hoping all the other families waiting hear soon!

I got one too!  His first line is "Moral is High."  Gotta love a kid with a dramatic flair!  It is like Christmas came early, and in an envelope!
