Anyone else have a loved one in Ship 9 Division 091?  My son left 01/17/2012.  He will be going to Pensacola for his A school.

your a lucky family. lol   so what part of of Fla. is A School?

my daughter is going for air traffic controller.  I hope all works out for all.

Everyone it is great to hear respones.  I feel that our SHIP is truly blessed.  And our SR's will go far.

My daughter just called - needed her passport information.  Although she couldn't talk (business call), she was able to tell me that today is Week 1/Day 1.  I couldn't tell how she sounded except for businesslike.  I guess that beats the heck out of miserable, though.  I told her we sent her 18 letters yesterday and she replied, "I don't know if I will have anywhere to put them."  I think I will still write every day, just send them twice a week or so though.

I will probably make my hotel reservations today or tomorrow.  We will probably stay at the Holiday Inn Express as my brother-in-law works for IHG (parent company) and can get us a friends & family rate.  Hope everyone has a blessed day!

I just made our hotel reservations at the La Quinta in Gurnee Mills.  It's $49 a night with free hot breakfast and heated indoor pool.  I am wondering if there are different Week 1/Day 1 in our division, because my son said his first day was the 23rd.  That would make today Week 2/Day 2.  I'm really not sure how all that works.  Now we just have to figure out how we're going to get there.  It's a 16 hour drive, a 2 1/2 hour drive to Dallas and a 22 hour train ride, or a 2 1/2 hour drive to the airport and a 2 hr flight.  Not sure which is the best for our family.  We will definitely need a vehicle while we are there though.  What is everyone else doing?

I am looking at Navy lodge or military lodge something like that. Its around 65 a night and has a small kitchen. As I wont eat out alot.Depending on the liberties the SR have.  I plan on staying Thur. thru possibly Sun. I am driving as I am coming from Ohio.  I heard taking a shutttle to the graduation is advised but there is alot of walking.  Its going to be a long day. no doubt.

Well ladies ,my son was sent to medical for a fractured wrist. Tripped on stairs and hurt it when he caught himself. He will be there for 13+8 wks now so goin to be a long haul. Good luck to all of you.

I am so sorry to hear that.  I will keep you all in my prayers.  This time is hard enough as it is, but to be extended and by an injury just makes it so much worse.  That is my biggest fear through this also.  I hope he heals fast.  Good luck.

Tsqhart, hope knows this may be a blessing. God may have a different job which is better then the one he was going for. With that being said I will pray for you. Bless you heart.

Wishing your son a speedy recovery.

Has anyone received a real letter from their SR yet?  I was thinking we might start receiving them this week.

When my SR called Tuesday, she said she would be able to write this Sunday.  That is in line with the "What Happens in Boot Camp" information on the Deppers site.
