I think I've seen at least two other moms on here with the same ship/div.

So, here's a group just for us!

My son wrote in his letter about this incident.  He said he was beating his self up about this.  Hopefully they want make the same mistake again.  Made me proud that I raised a son that felt bad about this. He said that the women could yell at them as they were exercising. They should have been able to go by and hit them after they were finished!

LOL no wonder my kid was relieved that he was still LLD at that time.  But yeah, the ladies should have not only yelled at them.  They should have marched by and given the guys a nice stupid slap in the back of their hard heads.  I love my boys but at the end of the day they're MEN!!!

My daughter actually told me about this - of course they were a little ticked that  they got IT'd at first but then she said the females really got into it and wanted to show the males a thing or two. Too funny.
Hello everyone, I came across this site a few days ago and joined yesterday - it is so comforting to read about the other women who are going through the same experiences as me. I am a girlfriend of an SR in ship 09, division 190. I hope it is ok that I'm not a mom! :)
I have received 3 batches of letters so far, and the most recent one was yesterday. My SR says his division is allowed to send/receive mail on most week nights now. I received a phone call last Thursday, but it was only 10 seconds. After reading some of the above posts, I am confused as to why his call was so short. It was wonderful to hear his voice just the same though.
I am excited to be a member of this group, and I look forward to getting to know you all better! :)

Ship 09 div 189 My daughter is a Sr ... welcome this is a great site my daughter told me about when she first talked to her recruiter !!

Got the letter my SR told me had been mailed when he called on Monday-great call; almost an hour.  He sounded great.  Said it is very hard but is even harder because a lot of the shipmates "do not realize the gravity of the commitment they have made".  It sounds like it is very frustrating for the ones who do realize what they need to do.  I told him that I really think this is the 'turnaround' week-there is a lot to be accomplished between now and June 3 and I'm sure they can do it!  He did great on his swim qualifications and his first PFA.  He felt really the effects of the cough he had been dealing with during the PFA so the next day he finally went to sick call and was issued LLD for a couple days and was back almost 100% by the call on Monday.  GO 09/190!!!!!!!!!!
Total bummer!  I usually hear from my SR on Thursday, but not today.  BOOOOO!  I am telling myself that he is very busy since his oral surgery and is working hard and resting when he gets the chance.  After I learned of the wisdom teeth being pulled and the sinus infection he got, I bought every "Thinking of You" and "hang in there" card I could find.  they're all too girly for my taste, but he wants mail--He gets mail!  @zmom tell your boy to poke his neighbor in the next rack & holler (or whisper as the case may be) "Write your mom!"  LOL  28 & counting!
Blue candles on May 31-June 1!  Prayers, positive vibes & crossed fingers!  Love Div 190!
I am so relieved!  I got 2 letters; my SR is very upbeat and pleased with his test scores. His oral surgery is a thing of the past and they removed the demerit he got for walking down the wrong side of the street due to circumstances.  (As in SICK AS A DOG) As I post this, they are winding up Hell Week.  He was looking forward to being aboard the Marlinspike.  And can you believe it?  Only 3 weeks until we can congratulate them in person!
Great news for 09/190!  They defeated their brother division (189) in a friendly competition aboard the Marlinspike!  Hell Week is over; they won themselves a trip to the NEx for having a good inspection, and  if they did good on their drill inspection on the 13th, then they can march without their RDC's and they get another flag.  My SR actually used the word FUN in his letter to me, and he says he is a marksman.  So much pride!  The trauma of the wisdom teeth may be over.  It sounds like our "quiet" little division has come into its own.  I am counting the days.  Looking forward to meeting you other 09/190 parents!
Received a completed 'questionnaire' that I had sent my SR though he did add some comments so it made it like a letter he had written.  They have done Marlinspike and he really liked it.  He gave me the date for Battle Stations but I don't want to publish it because the Navy Recruit Training Command FaceBook won't publish any information like that so I don't feel right doing it here.  Their division seems to be coming together and were having a test this past Monday they were hoping to win a flag for. Go Div 190!!
They do Battlestations on May 30; at least this is the date I got from my most recent letter.
