Hi,

My boy is in the 268 also.  He sent a letter about a week ago saying that everyone had the flu and he along with a few others had bronchitis.  He said they gave cough medicine with codeine that worked well and an inhaler for those with a chest infection.

According to my kiddo, there were some recruits that were mouthing off so they lost nearly all their phone privileges.

I don't know how many are in div 268.

Hope you hear from him soon!!  The waiting sucks!

take care,

Dawn

Oh you lucky ladies that got phone calls, we are just waiting and not sure if/when one will come.  He will want to "be fair" and alternate his phone calls between us and his Mom.  So since we got the initial 30 second call arrival night, she may get the next phone call.  I have put it in a couple of his letters now to be sure and call our cell phones though, his 1st call was to the house phone, that we never answer and we didn't even hear it the night he called.  :(  At least we now have him on the anwering machine.  LOL

Hi everyone. Josh is also on Ship 9 / Div 267. I already know some of you but wanted to respond anyway. :)   I was hoping that Div 267 & 268 would be brother divisions so this is good news. Have a good day!

Josh is in the same ship and div with my son... I

That is great! :)   Josh is going to be Fire Control; though I am not exactly sure what that means, I do believe that it involves weapons and being one of the guys who fires the weapons on the ships. Eeeaackkk, I think I felt better when I thought he would just be fighting fires. :)   hehe..

*Proudcomom - I didn't receive a phone call either but I am currently living in a house with no Internet and VERY limited cell service. Thankfully, we are moving next weekend. :)   I will be so happy to rejoin civilization; as I am sure the kids will be too when they get out of boot camp!

I'm so jellous of everyone who received a phone call, but I'm very happy for you :)  How did he/she sound?  I haven't heard anything from my son who is in div 268, but I'm sure they are all feeling pretty much the same (homesick).  How is everyone holding up?  Things have gotten a little better for me.  My sadness is turning into pride.  I wish I would have know about this site before my SR left for BC.  That way I could have gotten a little more prepared as to what to expect.  I certainly didn't realize how much I would miss my son.

Proudcomom my son is also in 268 and as of today no letters or phone calls yet!! Hopefully they all start coming soon! Thursday is usually the day to keep and eye out for the mail man (just don't tackle him when you see him!!) lol hopefully we all in div 268 hear some news soon! Have a great day!

I got a call from Dakota on Friday because he needed info for his security clearance (he's going into IS). He sounded very happy to hear a familiar voice. He told me he loves me and misses me a million times. It was awesome. He said everyone is homesick and to send as much mail as possible. He said the hardest part thus far was staying awake the first 48 hours and the 3 mile hike in 104 degree temps. He said they are all staying strong together. He spoke of teamwork several times. They were supposed to have the first opportunity to write yesterday so hopefully we will receive letters soon! He said they had their first mail call last Thursday and only 5 people out of 88 received mail. He said it was very disappointing. It broke my heart!

Dakota's Mom: so glad you got to hear from your son.  Wow 3 mile hike in 104 degree.. I'm glad to hear that there's   already a sense of team.  This is the best support system they have at the moment.

Ohhh that's great to hear, this week everyone will get mail that will help boost the morale of the team I can't wait to get a letter from Kevin it's been hard for me this is the first time he is been away for this long he is my one and only child last time I talked to him was Friday need some additional docs for his clearance. Thank you for sharing it helps a lot to ease the worries .....

Aww, hopefully they will start getting our letters soon and will be able to write us back. I mailed mine out last week so crossing my fingers that Josh has received them. *He was probably hoping for letters from his girlfriend but he will just have to deal with letters from mom! haha.. I am sure that she is writing him as well though. :)

Hi everyone! I hope all is well with you ladies!!! My son Brandon is in DIV 267, and I have heard from him twice ( he needed paperwork emailed) He called July 4th and the phone call lasted 2 mins. Then he called Friday, and we got to talk for a little bit.... It is hard to get info from him, but he sounded good! It was nice to hear his voice! He told me he has already wrote 3 letters so hopefully I will be getting them this week! They should all be calling home in a week or so I hope!

M2dmommy- what is your son's job going to be?

My son is a CTN and I am trying to find out if there are any other ones..... If so the boys/girls will be in A school together...
