I can hardly type today they are so crossed! : )

Husband just called and we've got mail!  Can't wait to get home.  Hope you find the same waiting for you, Cathy. : )
Yes, I  receive 5 letters!!!  So much information.  I have to go to work soon, so I don't have much time.  When I get home tonight I will share what he wrote.  All I can say right now is that I miss him beyond belief!!!  I cried my eyes out as I read each letter.  I will talk to you all later tonight.  Have a good one and I'm so happy we all received letters from our boys!!
WOW!  FIVE letters!  I can imagine the crying that took place.  Have a good evening, we'll all get through this as will they!

We got mail, too!  It made my day - probably my month just to hear the good news!  My husband got home first and it was going to be several hours before I got home. He posted on FB that we'd heard from our son and he was good, but wouldn't say more until I could read the letters.  I cried right there at work to know that he had not been injured or sick - at least to the point of reporting it in one of the 2 letters he'd written.  My prayers have certainly been answered!  I have prayed since before he left for him not to get injured or sick and for him to be able to do physically what he needed to at boot camp. I have so much to be thankful for!  I know they have weeks to go, but so thankful for where we are!  OK - said the same things about the 3 RDC's  being good - " funny when appropriate and firm when necessary ...very." lol.  Says he isn't one who has gotten everyone punished.  He said it would surprise us that he is one of the fastest bed makers/strippers : ).  69 recruits. Said he was actually enjoying himself but misses rugby (he would watch matches on the internet from the other side of the world!).

That's about all the info I have to share.  His notes were written on Easter and Mother's Day, so hopefully the news is pretty current although not more informative.    We're going to make it, Ladies, and so are our sons!  Thanks for your support and encouragement.  Have a great Thursday night and Friday.

Where do I begin...he said the first day was horrible, up for 40hrs.  He often said in his letters how much he missed us and loved us and how much he appreciates us. He can see changes in himself as far as missng his family, taking on responsibilities and structuring his life in a positive way.  He's a section leader and said he's in charge of 9 fellow shipmates.  He loves taking charge while he helps out fellow brothers.  They are getting close already.  He's great at folding clothes and making beds.  I can't wait to see that!!  He said a lot of kids are sick, he has a sinus infection.  He said they asked the division if anyone wanted to go home and 3 shipmates got sent home. He said he knows its going to get only harder before it gets easier but the support he gets from us will help him through it.  He turned 21 while in BC and he said that was really hard, esp not being with his family. The division sang to him while he worked out doing 21 reps of each exercise. One thing he really likes is when one recruit is getting their butt worked off one of them jump in so they don't have to do it alone.  He said it's really cool how they stand up for each other and help each other out.  He also made a lot good friends.  The things he said that made me cry my eyes out were, he said he didn't receive any of my letters yet.  I hope to God he received them by now.  His last letter to me was dated May 8th!!  The other thing he said was that his whole division was "Grad n Go" so he can only spend Friday with us.  I was crushed when I read that.  I know the navy changes things at the last moment so I'm praying that changes!!! I want to see my son more than just a few hours!!!  I cried all night knowing that I couldn't spend more time with him.  Well I've babbled on way to much.  Have a good nite and talk to you soon!!

Neither of you have gotten the "3 week" phone call yet, have you? I'm still waiting and wondering when the cell phone will ring, but am still elated over the letter Thursday.

The 2 letters in 1 brought my husband & I much relief and made me not so anxious for the call, but it would be nice.  : )

Have a great Sunday.

No phone call yet, still waiting also!!  I'm still in awe over the letters!!  I've read them over and over again.  Each time I read them I become even prouder then I was before.  I think he's matured in just 3 weeks he's been there. I can't wait to receive our phone call and to receive another letter from him.  Please let me know if any of you receive a call.  Have a great night ;)

Hey Ladies,

Glad I found all of you.  My boyfriend is in Ship 09, Div 205.  His name is Chip Camp. Hope you don't mind a girlfriend chimeing in. Your guys probably all know "Camp" as he  is the old guy in the group at  age 36. He is going through BC and then will be in the reserves but from the sound of his letters might even go active.

I got my letters (2) on Thursday like all of you. Still waiting for a 3 week phone call. He likes his 3 RDCs also and has said about the same that they are tough but fair.

Chip has got a degree and has travelled extensively in Europe so he is kind of taking the younger guys under his wing. He was worried about PT but is keeping up with the 18 yr. olds just fine. I had to laugh -- when they did the mile & 1/2 run he beat out a bunch of the young guys & the female RDC said "Holy Crap I didn't know you were Carl Lewis." He did good in swim qual. as he used to be a lifeguard even though it was a loooong time ago.

We live in Atlanta & I am a flight attendant so was going nuts for 3 days last week when I couldn't be home to get the mail but his letters were there when I got in Friday night. I think the whole neighborhood heard me holler. Broke my heart - he said he didn't get any of my letters the first day and it was like Christmas & everyone got something but him  :(

He got food poisoning one day. Watch out for the potato salad!

Am praying for all the guys & I guess some girls in this Div. Hope to meet you at PIR.

oops should have read the community guidlines first - sorry I used his name.

Cheryl

Hi fa4airtain - Good to hear from you. You "talked" with my husband in the last 24 hours about our son. We've been told not to use last names on NavyforMoms so I'm trying to respect that! We're from the Atlanta area also and husband thinks we saw one another at MEPS. Was your boyfriend the one who was sworn in by himself earlier than the group?
Hope they had a good holiday today and we hear more soon.

Yes, he was the one that got sworn in by himself. Well from what I hear I think the two are buddies so that is good to know. He wrote me two long letters and they were pretty detailed. I am glad he is liking it and not hating it.

Let me know when you hear anything.

I tried to go back and edit out the name but was too late. Will do better from here on out .. if I was in BC guess I'd be doing push-ups right about now.
