Yes, the yelling was not my daughters favorite time either. It was a hard letter for me as well.

But I am so glad she has great ladies there to support her and get her thru the tough times so I know she is not alone and they are learning to support each other.!

Hopefully, the next letter will not be as hard. I do know the first few weeks are the hardest-new life and separation etc.. . They will do great and be so proud of themselves. I keep looking to the end result. New adventures awaiting them!!

Will let you know if I hear how they are doing. Hope we get a call soon.!!

My daughter Katy is in ship 11/102.  Still haven't received a letter from her and it's now Feb. 21!  Maybe our daughters know each other.  Have you gotten the 3-week phone call?

My daughter is a "writer" so maybe thats why. She is also staying up after hours to write, fold, iron, study. She does say in letters that she really does not have time to be writing.

So maybe your daughter too tired or too much to do. I have not gotten a call yet, but carrying my phone around with me everywhere. Im sure as soon as things settle a bit for her she will write. I have sent questionaires, none have come back yet. Im sure they know each other. I will tell mine, to tell yours to "write her mother"!!!

All those on facebook, go to RTC  and play trivia tues. Winner gets a pic of your division posted.

look at notes for rules and then look up 11/102 under forums. I gave clue how to get answer quicker. They post question at noon central time!!! Just something fun to do!!!

I received a letter today. Much better than last one. staying up studying, folding and ironing. Still wants to come home. But passed all PT and swimming!!!  Hopefully everyone else will get mail too. Mine was dated the 14th

We received our first letter Sat., but then got 3 in the mail yesterday.  SR said he writes at night when he's not too tired.  Begged for us to write as much as possible.  Keep writing even if you're not getting a letter back.  Feedback and support from home means so much to them.

Hi,

My son is in this division and ship as well. Between my ex-husband and I we've gotten several letters since last Wednesday. Yesterdays letters were more of a journal type entry... he wants us to save for him. He says alot of his ship mates are WOW players so they have a great common bond with that. They share and read aloud their letters in the barracks some times. I guess from the time he wrote the letters two people where sent home for medical reasons and anotehr two left due to attempted suicide. He says it's really not that bad though... he thought their were probably mental problems involved. However, he's decided to go to church more often - just for someone to be nice to him.LOL He says if he would be allowed just a twenty minute call home - he'd be right as rain. But the letters help and news articles as well. He misses knowing whats going on in the world. He said it took him three days to find a civilian to ask who won the super bowl. Over all I think their in good spirits and getting to know each other.

Got 4 letters today. One was to her lil sister. G'ma even got one today also. Sounding good.

Had inspections , she did great on all so didnt get into trouble,.. Then they had to go work out and she said it was fun!! Chief was cracking them all up.

Wow, is all I can say. When a few weeks ago she was saying she was in a prison.

Still says div. is great.Loves the girls, says shower time is hysterical! Loves all the guys, says they are great and looking out for the girls. Thanks ladies for your awesome sons!!

It is so funny to hear the same stories from someone else's child.  I'm so sorry for those recruits that had to go home. I wish them the best!  She also talked about how wonderful the visit from the Chaplin was and how nice it was for someone to talk to her instead of yelling.  She sounds strong and happy about passing her uniform inspection, answered her question right while standing at attention and only 1 hit on her rack but still passed !!WooHoo!!  Also got dogtags this week even though they have the wrong religion stamped on them. Looking forward to more news.  Anybody got suggestions on where to stay for graduation!

Got the second call tonight around 6:15. He says everythings good. He sounded good... But only had 4 minutes to talk. It was an 877 number.:-D. Happy Mama!!

I can't wait for the call!!

My son is ship 11 div 102. He will be going to A school there in Great Lakes for EM

We just got our second phone call, lasted 4 min. and 5 letters so far.

He really wants a letter a day, I have writted  the strangest things

in these letters!!!!
